I would like to dedicate this book to all the chil-
dren out there...keep it real.
Long ago, in a little village,
there lived a Baker
Every year the baker held a
raffle, where the winner
received a
scones!
...and every year, the people of
the village would line up for
miles just to enter the draw.
The baker slaved in
his kitchen the night
before the big lotto
preparing the
scones
He wanted everything
to be PERFECT!
As the baker was baking, Little
Rhys Walter laid in his bed
wide awake
Rhys! Get
to bed!
Rhys’ mom said as she came in
his room.
“I’m too excited to sleep!”
he said.
Rhys got up extra
early to make sure
he got a good place
in line.
He ran all the way to the Bakery
and waited in line for
hours before entering his name in
the draw
Rhys spent the whole
walk home wishing and
praying to win the
Lottery...
...and that night, Rhys wished on
shooting star to win the lottery
When it was finally
morning Rhys
to the bakery
He watched the baker reach into
the basket,
pick out a name,
And read it out...
Why Look at this! It’s Little Rhys
Walter from down the road!
Why Look at this! It’s Little Rhys
Walter from down the road!
Rhys was ecstatic!
He ran up
on the
stage.
And the baker handed him a
box!
Rhys was so proud as he
carried his big box home...
But on his way, he saw a man
sitting on the street, with a
sign….
HUNGRY
Rhys felt bad when he walked
past the man.
He realized the
right thing to do:
Rhys turned
around and
gave the man
the box of
scones
The man was SO
happy! He thanked
Rhys.
Rhys felt a strange feeling he
had never felt before.
A feeling that was even better
than winning the lottery.
Rhys learned that
sharing is great
and helping
people feels even
better!
