EGYPT Economic situation has a great effect on the purchasing power of the Egyptian importers and consumers

In 2016 , Egypt devalued its currency by 48 percent , allowing it to float freely, in order

to meet a key demand by the IMF and secure a three-year loan. As a result of this ,The exchange rate of the dollar against the pound was not fixed

which effects negatively on the importing value But by the end of 2018, Egypt starts to have stable exchange rate in addition to fixing

the price of the customs dollar ,so we can say currency stability restores sales

Customer purchasing power was effected negatively because of the unstable economic situation in the previous years that’s why the customer prefer to fix and maintain his car than buying a new one

But it seems that this Situation will be changed after Europe Egypt agreement to

apply zero tariff ON Vehicles imported from Europe , ￭ This agreement already applied from begaing of January 2019 ￭ 0 Import Duties for Almost All Products from Europe ￭ New Car Market is Temporarily Stiff and It Makes Egyptian Pound Appreciate from 17.9 to 17.3
