About the Institute ... Sri Venkateswara VidyaPeeth a society was established in the year 1979 by some eminent
educationists,industrialists and top business Minister for Education, who established 24 Educational
Institutions including Schools, Junior & Degree Colleges, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Management
and Research Institutions.
In the year 2008 Alwar School of Business (ASB)was established. It is located in a beautiful serene
atmosphere (in a 12 acre site) in the heart of Gajuwaka, the industrial hub of Visakhapatnam. The
campus is spread over 12 acre of land. The academic block comprises a huge bulding of 20000 sq.ft.to
house, state of the art class rooms, library, computer lab, seminar hall, with audio visual aids.
The strength of the Institute is in its curriculum, which was developed, over so many years by Management
Gurus, to suit the latest needs of the Business and Industry. Here, the students would participate in
various activities, that deal with different Administrative matters, short term projects, summer projects,

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are
employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at
ASB. Lectures, case analysis, simulation games and
exercise, syndicates, group discussions and practical
project work are commonly used to develop
conceptual, analytical and decision making skills and
to prepare the students to face the challenges of the
complex business and organizational environment.
An attempt is made to assess the students
performance through a continuous system of tests,
quizzes, mid-term and semester-end examination
to ensure highest academic standards as well as
practical orientation.
LIVE PROJECTS
Though class room learning is given emphasis at
ASB, students are required to undertake a number
of practical projects in the different courses of the
programme for which the information gathered from
business/industry is analyzed and presented in the
form of reports.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP
While exposing the students to the theories and
concepts of modern management, no efforts are spared
to develop a practical orientation in them. After
completing the first two semesters of instruction during
the first year, all students are required to undertake
practical training in an organization for a period of eight
weeks during the summer months. Each student is
selected by a reputed company and given a practical
assignment. The student works under the guidance of a
senior manager in the organization and submits a report on
the project for which information is collected.
PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT LAB (PDL)
Personality Development given a special emphasis at ASB
and students are groomed according to the industrial needs.
The students are put through several grinding and intellectually
stimulating sessions of group discussions, live sessions on
communication, role plays, conflict resolution, grievance,
handling, personal interviews etc. These sessions along with
workshops conducted subsequently, not only polish their skills
but also familiarize them with what companies look for in a
trainee.
GROUP ACTIVITIES
Group activities also form the integral part of the part of the
pedagogy. Students themselves voluntarily take up the task
and conduct various activities
by Group discussions. Seminars plus Management games,
Quizzes, Industrial Visits and Group works. Students

A business (also called a company, enterprise or firm) is a legally recognized

The etymology of “business” relates to the state of being busy either as an individual or
