AutoScan is an all-in-one soluon which has:

Tests Performed

Ÿ Contact travel

AutoScan makes use of special transducers to record the travel signature curve of main contacts/rotang shas during the switchgear operaon. Travel measurements assess the rate of displacement of the contact assembly. This assessment help in understanding whether the switchgear contact operang mechanism is working appropriately. Deviaons from the expected signature help finding possible mechanical defects of the main contacts, moving shas, and springs.

The travel measurements also include measurement of velocity, inseron, contact gap, over-travel and rebound.

Ÿ Coil & Motor current analysis

Deviaons from the expected signature curves show possible electrical or mechanical defects of the trip and close coils and incorrect coordinaon of the auxiliary contacts and release latches.

The analysis of motor currents show the in-rush current, average current, and spring charging me. Spring charging me analysis help in determining the condion of the spring mechanism.

Ÿ Timing tests

AutoScan assesses the main contact and auxiliary contact mings. This assessment is useful for measuring the contact bounces and non-simultaneity of contacts and helps in finding the possible electrical or mechanical defects. It is possible to detect incorrect mechanical adjustments and wear phenomena of the switchgear by measuring the differences between the fastest and slowest phases.

Possible sequences: O, C, CO, OC, O-CO, and other Auto Reclosing sequences

All test sequences can be carried out with flexible test sengs.

Ÿ Stac Contact Resistance test (millivolt drop test)

AutoScan tests contact resistance of the closed switchgear to ensure that the load current flows with low losses. A sufficiently high contact resistance can cause substanal heang and subsequent failure of the switchgear’s contacts.

Our MVT millivolt drop tester-cum-contact resistance meter is available as an add-on accessory to AutoScan for performing stac contact resistance measurements.

Ÿ Dynamic Contact Resistance test (DCRM test)

AutoScan performs dynamic contact resistance measurement (DCRM) analysis on the switchgear to measure the wear of the arcing contacts of SF6 MV, HV, and EHV switchgears. Dynamic contact resistance measurement is important for assessing the switchgear contact condion aer several fault trips on-site for finding out erosions, ping, sluggishness, residual arcing p length, etc. without opening the interrupter. This cannot be

detected by performing stac contact resistance measurement.

The measurement also helps to record the benchmark signature of the arcing contacts, which is used in future for on-site assessment of the arcing contact condion.

Our DMVT dynamic contact resistance meter is available as an add-on accessory to AutoScan for performing dynamic contact resistance measurements.

Ÿ Voltage variaon test on auxiliary circuits

AutoScan’s Auto-set power supplies will automacally set an exact voltage condion as per the test specificaons with respect to the rated voltage of the auxiliary supply and measure the respecve behaviour of the close and trip coils. This test helps in tesng the performance of auxiliary circuits under varying supply voltage condions.

The AutoScan system can be configured to perform other special measurements as per the specific requirements of the manufacturer.
