How many of YOU have

Lower Back Pain?Neck Pain?Radiating pain down your arms / legs?Tingling/ Numbness in your hands /

feet?Weakness in Arms/Hands - Legs /

Feet?Unable to stand or walk for long

periods?

Page 6: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

How many of YOU have been told you HAVE:

Disc HerniationsDisc BulgesSciaticaDegenerated Disc DiseaseSpinal Canal Stenosis

Page 7: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

How Many of YOU have had:MRI’s or X-rays of current complaint?Chiropractic / Acupuncture?Epidurals/ Cortisone Injections?Physical Therapy?

Have even had Surgery???

Page 8: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

How many of you are still suffering from the

same Chronic Pain???

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!

Page 9: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery
Page 10: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Why are incidents increasing despite new drug and surgery options?

Is it possible we are notdoing the right thing?

Page 11: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Many Specialists believe that 75- 80 % of Lower Back AND Neck pain comes from THE DISCS

Page 12: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

2 Main Causes of Disc Problems Disc Degeneration Disc Herniations aka Bulging Disc,

Slipped Disc

Page 13: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

What is a Disc?Nucleus Pulposus & Annulus FibrosisA disc is like a Sponge; acts like a “shock absorber” in the spineA functional joint – they make up1/3 of the spineAbsorbs pressure and vibrationAllows for motionActs as a spacerIt is dynamic and necessary!

Page 14: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Have no blood supply Does NOT have any internal nerves. The disc itself is an ACTIVE tissue that

contains SIGNIFICANT mechanisms for self-repair.

Has a Natural Pump Mechanism which keeps the disc hydrated and healthy.

Is made up of 86% water

Page 15: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery
Page 16: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

It is a condition when a tear allows the disc material to push the annulus out against the nerve.

Colorado University study in the mid 1990s showed 10mm mercury will reduce the effective functionality of a nerve by more than 60%...that is only the weight of a dime.

HEALTHY

UNHEALTHY

Page 18: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

A herniated disc or slipped disc irritates the nerves in the lower back causing:Pain NumbnessTinglingMuscular WeaknessMuscular spasms

When symptoms travel down the leg this is known as: SCIATICA

Page 19: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

They have lost their innate ability to keep itself healthy and hydrated: Their pump mechanism has failed:

Movement-driven pump mechanism alternately compresses and relaxes pressure on disc, pumping water and waste products out and water and nutrients in.

Failure of the pump mechanism results in biochemical changes causing disc conditions like bulging, herniated and degenerative discs and varied symptoms

Page 20: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Failed Pump = Loss of Circulation

Failed pump

Condition

Page 21: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Stress Physical: Trauma, Aging, MVA, Sports Injuries Chemical: Smoking, drinking, Rx Meds, Emotional: finances, romance, kids, jobs

Sitting too long Poor posture Overweight

Every extra pound of weight can add up to 8 extra pounds of force on our joints

Page 22: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

What is the current approach?

Is it working?

Page 23: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Pills: Muscle relaxers, pain pills Physical Therapy: Stretch and Strengthen Chiropractic: Adjust and Align spine Acupuncture: Aligning Chakras/PNS Epidurals/Cortisone Injections: Strong

Anti-Inflammatory -Temporary Fix Surgery: Invasive/Risky/Low Success Rates

What do ALL of these have in Common???

WARNING:The following picture shows what

spinal surgery looks like…

Nearly 1 of 50 BACK Surgery Patients dies within 3 years of surgery.

The Death rates are significantly higher when analgesics are involved.

The Mortality Rate increases SEVEN FOLD when CAGE devises are used in conjunction with analgesics.

Dr. Eugene Carragee, MD of Stanford University performs spinal surgery only on a select group of patients whom he carefully screens. His conclusions: Less than 25% will be completely successful (even

after carefully screening them). For the majority of the patients, the surgery does

not have a dramatic impact on their pain or mobility.

That a patient’s prospect for a future free from back pain is “fairly poor.

Page 28: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

The cost for Back Surgery in the USA $6,000-$8,000 with an Endoscopic Surgery $60,000 for a SPINAL FUSION $85,000 for Laminectomy

Additional costs include: Prescription Meds: $ Physical Therapy: $$ Hospital wages/ Fees: $$$ Lost wages: $$$$ Post Surgical Complications including additional

SURGERIES…$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

How much does your health and your future

mean to you?

Page 29: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Yes, that is partially true BUT Here’s the part that isn’t true:

When you factor in your copay, additional expenses, such as medications, rehab (PT)

Your out of pocket expense can become Very costly

More Importantly, you are wasting TIME! Time with your family, friends, golfing, traveling, doing all the things you enjoy because you are recovering.

(* Estimated expenses)

Page 30: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Spine Surgeons Frequently Claim 95-98% SUCCESS Rate

Success Rates range from 25% to 50%. With a HIGH Risk of many complications:

Infection, Nerve Damage, Permanent Disability Coma, Paralyzation, Death Failed Back Surgery, Additional Surgery Pain Medication addiction, Depression

Page 31: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

After reviewing all the options and statistics, one has room to believe that the current approach to treating BACK PAIN is ineffective and in fact leading to more pain, disease and death.

So what else can we do???

Page 32: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Our Alternative Approach is to Reduce or Eliminate

your Neck or Lower Back Pain WITHOUT the

Use of DRUGS or SURGERY!

Page 33: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

A 5 STEP “SPINE” APPROACH TO HEALING

AND RESTORING FUNCTION TO THE DISCS: The TDC 5 step Method:

Step 1: Spinal Decompression Step 2: Physiotherapy: Laser, EMS etc. Step 3: Intersegmental Mobilization Step 4: Nutritional Wellness Step 5: Exercise Rehabilitation

Page 34: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

STEP 1: SPINAL DECOMPRESSION What is Spinal Decompression:

Was Developed by Dr. Allen Dyer, M.D..Health Minister in CanadaDr. Dyer also developed the Defibulator

Dr. Norman Sheely, MD developed the protocol for Spinal Decompression Grandfather of the TENS unit

Spinal Decompression is Spinal Distraction Without Muscular Contraction.

Page 35: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Specialized Decompression Tables Can target 1 specific disc at a time Senses muscle contraction 4000 times per

second resulting in less muscle spasm and guarding

Creates a negative pressure within the disc which causes a vacuum effect to suck in water, oxygen, nutrient and disc material back into the disc

Allows the disc to heal from the inside out

Page 36: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Decompression of the spinal discs produces a Negative Pressure

In a Study Published by The Journal of Neurosurgery, Researchers Placed a Pressure-Sensor in a Disc While undergoing Decompression and Found that the Disc Pressure Dropped to

-160 mm Hg

Page 37: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

800 mmHG – Bent over picking up heavy box/item 300 mmHG – squatting pick up heavy box

100 mmHG – Standing straight up

75 mmHG – Lying face up on the surface

40 mmHG – Lying face down on table

-160 mmHG!!! – SPINAL DECOMPRESSION Provides NEGATIVE Pressure on the disc

Page 38: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Page 39: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Spinal Decompression can make a physical change to the disc and a true change in your condition

Re-hydrates the disc and increases disc height Reduces disc herniation size Takes pressure off compressed spinal nerves Re-creates the Pumping Mechanism of the disc

Less Pain – Increased Motion & Function

A Better Quality of Life

Page 40: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

So safe that Mom goes on it!

Page 41: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

How long does treatment take: On decompression table for 25-30 minutes 20-25 visits 6-8 weeks Total treatment in office anywhere from 60-90

minutes. Most patients see results within 2-4 weeks.

Page 42: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Step 2: Physiotherpy Electric Muscle Stimulation

Generates Blood flow to the area to begin a healing process

Reduces muscle tightness and spasm Cold Laser Therapy (MR4 Laser)

Increases energy within the cell Speeds up tissue healing Reduces pain and inflammation

Step 3: Intersegmental Mobilization Restores proper movement and alignment

to the spine to allow for proper biomechanical function to all joints.

Page 43: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Step 4: Nutritional Wellness Supplementation with specific products

we believe to help accelerate your healing Omega 3’s, Vitamin B6, Spine Revitalizer,

Curaphen Removing Inflammatory foods from your

diet

Step 5: Exercise Rehabilitation Power Plate Rehab (Accelerated Training)

30 muscle contractions per second Program exercises designed specifically for you Strengthen and stabilize the back/neck to support structural changes.

Page 44: Avoid Lower Back Or Neck Surgery

Physical therapy – No

Chiropractic – No Exercise – No Drugs – No Acupuncture – No

Massage – No Surgery – Yes

Weakens the Disc Invasive & Risky Low Success Rates

NON SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION…YES!!!!
