A qualified Mystery Shopper will visit your store to audit service levels and the customer journey. You will receive a full mystery shop report. The Top100 scoring stores will be awarded Top100 status.

All Top100 stores will be sent an inspirational retailing submission guide which has been custom designed by The Echochamber. This is a visual guide to best practice retailing from around the world. The guide outlines ten key pillars to retailing excellence. Each of the Top100 stores will be requested to record evidence pertaining to each of the ten pillars. Each submission will be scored by The Echochamber and you will be sent a review of performance including items requiring improvement. The Top30 scoring stores will be announced as Store of the Year finalists. Any store which achieves a combined score of 80% or more (when the stores’ mystery shop report score and submission score are combined..) will receive a Mark of Retailing Excellence.

Each Top30 Store, deemed a Store of the Year Finalist, will be visited by Retail Excellence and The Echochamber. The outcome of this on-site visit, a financial submission and awards judging will determine the overall Award winners.

Sectoral AwardsThe store which achieves the highest score in their specific sector will be announced as that sectoral winner (provided more than ten stores from three different companies entered that sectoral award). Sectoral awards will be presented for each of the following retail sectors:

Entering the Awards will allow you gain valuable learnings for your business. Retail Excellence in association with Barclaycard now invite you to enter Ireland’s most prestigious Awards process which will unite and motivate your team.

Manager of the Year AwardA great manager is one of the most important assets to your business. Evidence shows us that great managers can and do make a significant difference to the performance of their specific store and your overall business. This is your opportunity to recognise your store manager’s dedication and commitment by entering them in the Manager of the Year Award. Once you have entered your Manager, he/she will then be requested to complete a brief submission which will be reviewed by our judging panel. The Top5 Managers will be announced as finalists and will be invited to meet the panel in person. The recipient of this prestigious title will then be announced at the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony.

Rising Star of the Year AwardThe Rising Star Award recognises team members who excel in their role in your retail business. Once you have entered your Rising Star, he/she will then be requested to complete a brief submission which will be reviewed by an expert judging panel. The Top5 Rising Stars will be announced as finalists and will be invited to meet the judging panel. The winner of this prestigious title will be announced at the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony. Rising Star entrants must hold non-management / supervisory roles.

eCommerce AwardsThe world of online provides a fantastic opportunity for retailers to capitalise on a significant prize across the globe. The eCommerce Awards recognise the retailers who are best at online practice.

Website of the Year AwardThe Website of the Year Award is for websites which have been established for two years or more. Every website entered will undergo a comprehensive audit conducted by our expert eCommerce judging panel. Every entrant will receive a valuable report outlining where improvements can be made. The Top3 finalists will be invited to present to our judging panel with the winner announced at the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony.

Best New Website AwardThe Best New Website Award is for websites which have been established in the past two years. Like The Best New Website of the Year Award, each website entered will undergo a thorough audit conducted by our expert judging panel and receive a valuable feedback report. The Top3 finalists will be invited to present in front of our judging panel with the winner announced at the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony.

Best Digital Campaign AwardThe Best Digital Campaign Award celebrates the most innovative and creative digital campaigns in retail. Entrants will be required to complete a submission which will be assessed by our expert judging panel. The Top3 campaigns will be selected as finalists with the overall winner announced at the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony.

Ireland’s Friendliest Place Award2016 marked the inaugural Ireland’s Friendliest Place Award which truly boosted spirit and pride across many places nationwide. Each County & City Council is invited to enter their city, town or village into this award where up to a maximum of 10 stores in each place will be audited using the same criteria as the National Store of the Year Award. The three places with the highest average score will be deemed finalists. The Top3 finalist places will be invited to attend the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony where Ireland’s Friendliest Place will be announced. The stores nominated to represent a place are also automatically entered into the National Store of the Year Award.

Supplier of the Year AwardThe Supplier of the Year Award allows us to celebrate the very best suppliers to the Irish retail industry. Only partners to Retail Excellence can enter. Entry involves completion of a submission which is assessed by an expert judging panel. The Top3 suppliers will be announced as finalists and the overall Supplier of the Year winner will be announced at the Retail Excellence Awards Ceremony.
