Oh the one who found a Murshid and received this collection from the Murshid.

Sayyid ʿAbd al-Qādir Al-Jilānī said: “My Foot is on the Neck of all Awliya”

No other among the Awliya was saying such. For Sayyid ʿAbd al-Qādir Al-Jilānī is the Sultan

of the Awliya. All other Orders and all other Awliya ask for his support. Due to a divine

reason you were directed to this door. Be aware of its magnitude. Try not to break your bond

with the Murshid. Try to observe your adhkār properly so that you might succeed.

the three. One is free to choose what one is capable to do.

III. Adhkār for the Nafs

The following Adhkār are recommended in order to remove seven spiritual illnesses from

ones soul. The mirror of one’s heart will shine, a spiritual power will manifest itself in your

spirit and on the spiritual realm inspirations, openings, blessings and miracles (karamāt) will

appear, inshallah. These Adhkār can be done after one has asked the Sheikh or the Wakīl for

permission. The Adhkār have to be done in order and in a state of wuḍūʿ as well as in a

conscious and humble way which will make the effect great. It is not a problem to cross the

given number. It is also possible to do these Adhkār according to a time-set. In this case,

doing more is better.

May Allah make you and us real righteous servants of Him. Amin. It is our concern to

become Muʾminūn with tranquil hearts. And with Allahʾs permission, this is the prescription.

This Salawāt is peformed on Fridays from dawn to dusk. The Prophets said: “Whoever

recites this Salawāt upon me on a Friday 80 times, Allah will forgive him the sins of 80

years.” (Daylami, Musnad al-Firdaws)

It is also possible to recite it more than 80 times.

2) Allahumma ṣallī ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin an-Nabiyyu al-ʾummī wa ʿalā Ālihi

The Prophets said: „Whoever recites this Salawāt upon me on a Friday after the aṣr Prayer

without leaving one’s place 80 times, the sins of 80 years will be forgiven and the reward for

80 years of worship will be given.” (al-Qawl al-Badīʿ, at-Tustarī)

This Ṣalawāt is called Salawāt as-Saʿāda. According to the tradition one of this Ṣalawāt

equals 600.000 Ṣalawāt (Afdal as-Salawaat). This is the Ṣalawāt of Sheikh Abd al-Qādir al-

Jīlānī. In an emergency this Ṣalawāt should be recited 12.000 times. 1111 Salat al-Munjiya

can be added for the same purpose.

4) Allahumma ṣallī ʿalā sayyidinā Muḥammadin al-Fātiḥi limā ughliq, wa al-Khātimi

VI. Adab of the Murīd

1) Reflection about one`s deeds محاسبة النفس

When we bring ourselves to account we should ask how we are treating ourselves, our family,

our relatives, our neighbors and the society we are living in? What kind of good deeds are we

doing? What kind of injustice and bad deeds are we committing towards them? We have to

take all these and reflect about them in order to increase the good and to remove the bad. Our

murshid and teacher in every case Muḥammads, who always warned us, advices us in the

following manner: "The intelligent man is the one who subjugates himself and works for what

will come after death. The stupid man is the one who follows his own whims and hopes that

his desires will be gratified by Allah." (Tirmidhī). Before going to sleep the Darwish should

check his deeds like a cashier at the end of his day is checking his cash budget: Did I perform

my prayers? To how many people did I give Salam? Did I lie? Did I commit any sin? Did I

perform any good deeds?

If he remembers any sins he repents and goes to sleep. If he did good deeds he praises Allah

and prays for His grace in order to perform more good deeds.

2) Rabiṭa as-Sharīfa - Meditation

Foremost the wayfarer (sālik) should learn the Sunnah of our Beloved Prophets who is the

best of mankind and the role model of all role models:

"Indeed, in the messenger of Allah a 'good example (أسوة حسنة)' has been set for the one

who seeks Allah and the Last Day and thinks constantly about Allah." [33:21]

Within the hierarchy, the companionsf are the closest to the Prophetsand where illuminated

by the prophetic light. They should thus be taken as a role model after hims.

After the Ṣaḥaba’sf one should reflect on the Masters of our Golden Chain stemming from

the Prophet Muḥammads, leading through Alīa to Sayyid ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Gaylānī and

enventually to the Murshids of our days. One should read about their lives, remember their

struggles with their own nafs, their contributions and sacrifices to the Ummah and their

heroism on the path to Allah. The Murid should thus strive in order to follow the examples of

the Awliya who are the closest to him among those who are closest to our beloved Prophet an-

Nabī al-Aʾẓams

In accordance with our Dhikr of the Beautiful Names of Allah (Asmāʿ Allah al Ḥusnā), the

Murid should learn these Names, reflect on their meanings and implement them into his live.

For instance, while beholding a landscape one could remember Allah’s Name al-Muṣawwir

(The Fashioner) and think about the perfection and the beauty Allah has put in his creation.

Page 13: Awrad English 1

12

One method of Rabita in our Tariqa is to sit in a dim or dark room and listen to the Names of

Allah while reflecting on their meanings. This can be done regularly. It will inshallah bring

the Murid closer to Allah and make him understand his Lord.

3) Praying in Congregation

4) Praying the Sunnah Prayers (Duḥa, Ishrāq, Awwābīn, Witr, a.s.o)

5) Doing the Dhikr of La ilaha illa Allah abundantly

after each prayer 200 times

6) Reading a daily portion of the Qurān

if possible 2 juz, or at least 1 ḥizb

7) Being on wuḍūʿ all over the day

taking wuḍūʿ before going to sleep and reciting La ilaha illa Allah and reading Qurān

according to one’s capability

8) Frequent ṣuḥba with the Awliyā and the Murīds

Being distanced from worldly sessions and applying necessity when joining them

9) Remembering Death, Resurrection, the Scale and the Hereafter all over the day

10) Eating moderately with the intention of gaining power for one’s worship

11) Keeping one’s ears away from the talk of people when walking on the streets and

lowering one’s gaze

Looking straight ahead and not looking to one’s right and left when sitting

12) Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays

Or fasting the Three White Days: 13./14./15. of each Islamic Month

13) Being patient with Calamities

Bearing austerities, keeping one’s promises, having a good conduct, being soft-hearted, being

generous, being content with few, countering one’s carnal desires, giving advices to

oppressors, loving peculiar/strange people, not showing any envy, not getting angry at

someone, only loving and hating for the sake of Allah, guarding the limits of the sharīʿa,

following the Sunna. My dear Brother, this is the Adab of the Murīd. Try to comply with it as

much as you can. May Allah give us success in fulfilling these.

VII. Futuḥāt as-Sayyid Muḥammad Rūḥī

Due to the globalization and the rapid development of technologies we are facing in our

century, mankind is being confronted with many changes and different types of sins.

Concerning the sins it is to say that we are dealing with sins that until now have never

appeared. Every century Allah Most High bestows upon one of the Ahl al-Bayt of our Prophet

Muḥammads, who is Sayyid and Sharif and from among the Awliya certain revelations

(kushūf) and openings (futuḥāt), in order to cure these bodily and spiritual diseases of His

servants. These entrusted Awliya always take their medicine from the Muhammadian

Page 15: Awrad English 1

14

Pharmacy and give them to the people through which they are cured from the diseases. Those

who accepted and applied these prescriptions in the past were being relieved from their

diseases and obtained a tranquil heart. In fact, what Allah Most Hight wants from us is that we

might come to his presence with a tranquil heart (bi-qalbin salīm). The Faqīr [Sheikh referring

to himself] is in need of the Mercy of Allah Most High, he is the servant of the Ummah of

Muḥammads and has suffered and cried many times because of the state of this Ummah.

Owing to my Murshid Sheikh ʿUbayd-Allah and probably owing to the Prayers and aids of

other precious servants of Allah, He Most High has bestowed certain openings to this Faqīr.

The Sheikh of the Jinn and Mankind, the Miracle of the Prophetic Truth, our Pīr Sayyid ʿAbd

al-Qādir al-Jīlānī ordered and entrusted us with the order of Allah Most High, of his

Messengers , and the Shah of Sainthood, the Commander of the Believers Haḍrat ʿAlīd that

we might spread the Dhikr of these Names of Allah and these Verses of the Qurān [cf. p.14]

which are the cure for the bodily and spiritual diseases of this century and the ones to come

until the Day of Judgement. Sometimes alone, sometimes in the company of our Master Alīd

and our Masters Ḥassan and Ḥussaynf the Sheikh thus transmitted us these and at the same

time honored us. The Faqīr has disposed this prescription in the way it came for a year now.

Among those who regularly applied this prescription without neglecting it, wide differences,

great beauties and perfections became visible. If the one whom this prescription reaches

accepts both Sayyid ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī and the Faqīr as his Sheikh and continuous with

this dhikr, with the permission of Allah Allmighty, the benefit will be hundred percent. If

however the dhikr is being done without taking the Tariqa, the benefit will be at least sixty

percent. This dhikr is totally in accordance with the Qurān and the Sunna. There is nothing in

contradiction with it. Someone with a heavy disease is free to try it. The proofs (burhān) of

Sayyid ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī will last until the Day of Judgement, for he is the sun that

never sets. May Allah - Great and Glorious is He – make you and us firm on His path and let

us live with those deeds that are pleasing to Him.
