Ayurveda diet, The Decks$he a!ove e&planation reflects the importance of diet in a healthy individual and in a diseased condition. Ayurveda
emphasies on diet so much so that there is a +uote in Charaka samhita in conte&t of disease and the treatment, i.e.
If a person would not follow diet restrictions then, whats the use of administering medicine to him?
If a person follows a strict regimen of diet then, why administer a medicine?
$he diet of a person depends upon the individual according to the a!ove guidelines and a healthy diet is drafted to
that person.For example, if a person who lives in uropean country comes for a re/uvenation therapy then, first we
will en+uire a!out the nature of the food, food ha!its, food articles of his region and then make a note of the same,
constitution is decided and important dosha is made out and then a suita!le diet is devised in accordance with his
food ha!its as it should !e palata!le and easily availa!le to him in his home country for continuation of the same.
$he Ayurveda diet can improve a person0s overall sense of well !eing with positive attitude towards life and other
things. y following the correct Ayurveda diet for your !ody type, your !ody will assimilate foods, nourish the
!ody, eliminating wastes, and cur! the production of o&idants, there !y inducing a state of well !eing !oth mentally
and physically.
For example:$he vata !ody type people are creative and have a +uick and fle&i!le mind. $hey are hyper active andalways prone to vata type of diseases like neurological disorders. $heir diet should include garlic, tulasi and cumin,
cinnamon, cardamom. ata people should limit intake of uncooked food, as it0s known to cause vata disorders.
"nclusion of fruits in their diet is always good for vata dominant constituent people.
$he pitta !ody type people are passionate, strong willed, and energetic with high level of determination and
initiative. $he diet for pitta constitution people includes cooling her!s and sweet fruit, grains like !arley, whole
wheat, and !asmati rice, vegeta!les like collards and spinach. "m!alances that this !ody type should avoid are
humidity, too much fat and oil in their diet, and an e&cess of alcohol and caffeine.
$he kapha type people are calm, content, strength, stamina and endurance. %or them, foods which have light
proteins are good for them like !eans, chicken, turkey, vegeta!les and eggplant, peas, and !eets. $hey should avoid
dairy, !read, and cold foods and drinks. &ercise is recommended for kapha type of people and should avoid day
sleep to keep them healthy.
$he Ayurveda diet was structured thousands of years ago to help determine the !est types of foods for the primary
three !ody types, vata, pitta, and kapha. 'ome of the important food articles which needs to !e used daily and
avoided. ere are some of the foods that can !e used in daily usage and to !e avoided for a !etter health. All the
food articles mentioned a!ove are in accordance with the ayurveda te&t with little changes for availa!ility of the
same in today0s world.

me or !efore he arrives with some +uestions on his food ha!its). ;e will take a note of the dishes prepared using the
a!ove food articles and then advise according to ayurveda guidelines, we will also supplement them tea and special
!everages to them so that can also fetch us some good amount of money. ;e will have different diets for particular
clients like o!esity diet (included with panchakarma for o!esity treatment), special se&ually potentiating diet (somemodification has to !e made and some special meat and floor preparations to !e added), "' diet (special diet for
"' with special ref to !uttermilk foods and drinks).

timings (waking up and at !ed time) which help in proper digestion and add additional value the diet we
