E-AKHBARNEWSLETTER
We cannot appreciate light without the shadows. The COVID 19
pandemic has cast huge shadows in our lives. We are constrained within
one defined space. We are hungry for variety, more things, new things.
The mind is desperate, looking for release. Move into light and it feels
awesome. There is no traffic on the roads, so practically no air pollution.
Everything looks so much richer and better. And no noise pollution,
which means less distraction and a far higher level of focus. Add to this,
our heightened sensitivity to the turmoil happening in the lives of those
less fortunate.
For the visually inclined, what a wonderful mind space to be in. I
anticipate that every one of us will be a better and more sensitive image
maker ! And the collective power of our images will move the world.
THERE IS ALWAYS LIGHT OUTSIDE THE SHADOW !

Director's Thoughts...
Hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well and healthy. The past few months have been full of change and uncertainty as we respond to the global pandemic and try to reduce the spread of COVID-19. As your Trustee, I know that the pandemic and school closures are challenging for everyone. We are all in this together.
Since the beginning of this crisis, I have continually advocated for the rapid introduction of distance education to support student well-being and provide continuation of learning for students.
It has been a wonderful journey watching NLK Group of Schools’ education grow and become an integral part of my life. It holds a near and dear place in my heart and always will.
NLK is the greatest treasure,
To be here, gives me immense pleasure.
I am today a proud lady carrying NLKites dreams,
Growing and working always like a team…

Message From Trustee...
Welcome to NLK Public School!!!
As the Principal of the school, I feel
honoured and privileged to be part of an
educational institution where every
stakeholder is a learner and every day is an
opportunity to learn and discover. We look
at ourselves as a community of learners,
where everyone learns including our
teachers, parents & staff at the outset, I
wish and pray for everyone's health and safety. This is indeed a difficult time for us,
specially for our children who have been confined to their homes for many months now. As
parents and educators, our responsibility to provide a conducive environment for the
optimum development of rises many folds in these circumstances.
I am pleased to inform you there was a change for better in online classrooms as teachers
started facilitating the learners through various ways like storytelling, presentations,
videos and other content prepared by them, the COVID-19 crises posed a serious threat
which we were able to channelize into a beautiful opportunity, through this newsletter you
will get to know more about our journey of metamorphosis.
As the cliché, the school's buildings are closed but our teachers, our students and our
supportive parents, we all are working hard learning new technologies for imparting the
education.

"The journey of online classes began on a high note leaving off the inhibitions and doubts behind. The students, teachers and parents whole heartedly accepted the new system and the transition was a smooth one."
The session 2020-21 began on an unparalleled note, which hasn't been witnessed in our lifetime. There was a lot of anxiety and confusion in the beginning as clouds of uncertainty Loomed large over the way education would be imparted.
Suddenly, everything came to a standstill and we were confined to our homes. We started missing things like seeing each other, lovely smiles and laughter of children, assemblies, activities, music, dance, games and every other aspect of school going experience.
These adverse circumstances made us realise that there is a pertinent need for preparing our children physically, mentally and emotionally so that they are fully equipped to cope with any situation. We begin the session in gadgets actually, and that became a medium to connect with each other. We also focus on the physical and mental fitness of the students. A lot of stress was given on co curricular activities like art, craft, yoga, reading, storytelling etc. To break the monotony of their routine.

E-Learning : Our Way
The students were trained to use many tools and apps to make the classes more engaging. A beautiful amalgamation of social media and technology sailed us through the trying times and in no time we were back on the track with lively, thriving classrooms, full of happy learning- in the virtual world.
"Socially distanced, virtually connected"
Students and teachers came together to explore different virtual platforms like Google duo, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc and many other apps to enhance the virtual learning experience. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the students with the usage of augmented reality apps like Zoom, Google duo and WhatsApp.

As its evident that continuing the education in the trying
times of corona was a big question.
But adapting to New tech-based education has been the
solution which has been adequately managed and imparted
by NLK school. Hats off to school and such dedicated staff.

Thinking outside the box can provide an innovative solution to a sticky problem. However, this can be thinking outside the box can be a real
challenge as we naturally develop patterns of thinking that are modeled on the repetitive activities and commonly accessed knowledge we
surround ourselves with. Some years ago, an incident occurred where a truck driver tried to pass under a low bridge. But he failed, and the truck
was lodged firmly under the bridge. The driver was unable to continue driving through or reverse out. The story goes that as the truck became
stuck, it caused massive traffic problems, which resulted in emergency personnel, engineers, firefighters and truck drivers gathering to devise and
negotiate various solutions for dislodging the trapped vehicle. Emergency workers were debating whether to dismantle parts of the truck or chip
away at parts of the bridge. Each spoke of a solution which fitted within his or her respective level of expertise.
A boy walking by and witnessing the intense debate looked at the truck, at the bridge, then looked at the road and said nonchalantly, "Why not just
let the air out of the tires?" to the absolute amazement of all the specialists and experts trying to unpick the problem. When the solution was
tested, the truck was able to drive free with ease, having suffered only the damage caused by its initial attempt to pass underneath the bridge. The
story symbolizes the struggles we face where oftentimes the most obvious solutions are the ones hardest to come by because of the self-imposed
constraints we work within.
