1. Curriculum framework This curriculum for BA in innovation and entrepreneurship, hereafter referred to as PBIE has been prepared according to executive order no. 247 of 15/03/2017 which has been approved for the provision of this programme. The institutions have determined parts of the curriculum jointly, and other parts are determined by Lillebaelt Academy alone. Joint part and institutional part The curriculum consists of a joint part adopted in the business academies’ education network for the programme, as well as an institutional part determined by the individual educational institution. The joint part is incorporated in this document and consists of items 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.6 and 6.2. The rest of the curriculum is the institutional part.

The following institutions, who in close cooperation have committed to ensuring national competence and uniform dispensation practices, have prepared the joint part. The following institutions define the joint part of this curriculum:

The joint part has been approved by the business academies’ education network June 10th 2016. The complete curriculum has been approved by Lillebaelt Academy according to the internal institutional approval procedures April 4th 2017.

1.1 Programme objectives Objective of learning outcomes The aim of the program for professional bachelor in innovation and entrepreneurship is to qualify the student to handle professional solution of tasks in a newly established company or for a company with innovative and entrepreneurial development tasks. Content of learning outcomes: Knowledge The student has: 1) Development-based knowledge of theory and methodology in the field: Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 2) Developmental knowledge of creative and innovative processes and methods for implementing these - from conceptual creation to sustainable business,

3) Knowledge, understanding and ability to reflect on innovative processes, and 4) knowledge, understanding and ability to reflect on the central management areas of the new business or the newly started business area. The central management areas include knowledge about how IT is used in connection with business startup or business area and knowledge of marketing and communication in connection with start-up and development of the company. Skills The student can: 1) apply methods and tools as well as master the key skills needed as an entrepreneur, 2) analyze, assess and apply relevant creative and innovative processes, 3) Identify, analyze and assess opportunities for starting new businesses, new business areas in existing companies or growing existing business competencies in an existing company, 4) apply relevant methods and tools in managing and implementing projects, 5) apply relevant methods and tools in managing the new business and 6) select and apply relevant methods, systems and tools in sales, marketing, finance and IT for the operation of a new business as well as justify and convey the chosen systems. Competencies. The student can: 1) handle complex and developmental situations by identifying and critically evaluating opportunities for development of the new business or development projects in the existing company independently and / or in collaboration with other boards and implementing the development and growth process for the established company, 2) independently establish, develop and manage networks strategically, tactically and operationally with a professional approach, 3) Professionalize in collaboration with others with different academic backgrounds of business establishment and further operation, 4) stay informed in the subject development and continuously develop own knowledge, innovative and entrepreneurial skills and competencies and 5) continuously and professionally relate to their own learning and development needs in relation to the development, operation and expansion of their own business.

1.2 Title, duration and diploma Title Those who have completed the program have the right to be called Bachelor in innovation and entrepreneurship. The professional bachelor's degree is classified according to the Qualification Framework for Lifelong Learning at Level 6. Duration and maximum time of study The programme is standardized for 90 ECTS points. 60 ECTS credits correspond to one year’s full-time study, cf. Section 9 of Executive Order No. 1047 of 30/6/2016: Executive Order on Professional Academic Programs and Professional Bachelor's Degrees (LEP Executive Order). Programmes with a standard duration of up to 120 ECTS credits must be completed within a number of years corresponding to twice the standard period of education. Other programmes must be completed within a number of years, corresponding to the

standard duration of education plus 2 years. The institution may dispense from the last closing date when it is justified by exceptional circumstances. Diploma Lillebaelt Academy issues a diploma for PBIE, when the course is completed.

1.3 Effective date This curriculum becomes effective 1. August 2016/1. January 2017 and applies to students accepted for the programme beginning Autum/Spring 2016/2017.

1.4 Transitional schemes Students enrolled in previous curricula have the right to complete the program according to the original curriculum, but may follow the courses offered under the new curriculum. An exam will be held for the last time according the curriculum 2015 in 2019. Students enrolled in previous curricula may apply to complete the education under this curriculum, if this can be done within the maximum ECTS credits of the program. For future issuance of a new curriculum, or in the case of significant changes in this curriculum, transitional arrangements will appear in the new curriculum.

1.5 Current legislation for the curriculum The latest versions of the following laws and regulations apply to the programme:

2. Admission to the programme

2.1. Admission requirements Admission to the programme requires the fulfilment of the admission requirements that appear in the appendices to the Executive Order on access to academy programmes and professional bachelor programmes.

2.2 Admission conditions Compliance with the admission requirements in subsection 2.1 is necessary, but not sufficient for acceptance. Lillebaelt Academy determines and publishes rules on the criteria for which applicant to BA in Innovation and entrepreneurship are admitted if there are more qualified applicants, cf. 2.1 than study places available. Lillebaelt Academy publishes such criteria for selection on the academy's website, taking into account the deadlines required by the Ministry of Education and Research.

3. Course content

3.1 Course structure The education requires completed course elements corresponding to a workload of 90 ECTS. A full-time study in one semester consists of study elements, including internship, equivalent to 30 ECTS. The programme consists of compulsory course elements equivalent to 45 ECTS compulsory course elements, 15 ECTS elective elements, 15ECTS internship and a bachelor project of 15 ECTS.

The student may not carry out study activities of an extent greater than the set 90l ECTS-point. All course elements, including bachelor project, are evaluated and assessed. When the element is passed or achieves a minimum grade of 02, the element is considered passed.

3.2 Core components The core components of the programme consist of elements corresponding to [number of ECTS], and consist of the following study activities.

Innovation and development Timing: 1. and 2. semester Scope: 25 ECTS Content: The aim of this core area is to develop the students’ entrepreneurial mind-set so that they are able to manage the creative and the unpredictable and become goal-orientated and structured in their work. In this connection, the student will gain insight into his/her own strengths and weaknesses in relation to creating the best solutions in collaboration with others. This core area must furthermore give the students skills and competencies for identifying possibilities as well as creating and developing business ideas firmly based in methodology in order to start up sustainable companies or activities in existing companies and organisations. This is in order to be able to initiate sustainable companies or activities in existing companies and organisations. x The purpose of this core element is to provide the students with the necessary tools to convert ideas and opportunities into specific projects, and with insight into their own strengths and weaknesses, to be able to establish partnerships and networks that can make it possible to realise their ideas and opportunities. Moreover, the students should be able to manage change processes in companies with growth potential.

Corporate management Timing: 1. and 2. semester Scope: 10 ECTS Content:

x Content The purpose of this core element is to establish a common base in the areas of IT/technology, sales/marketing and economics in order to be able to communicate professionally and commit oneself to the business aspects of the start-up and operation of companies and development projects with an innovative and entrepreneurial character. Moreover, the aim is to gain insight into personal strengths and weaknesses in relation to creating the best solutions in collaboration with others, including being able to learn from peers while contributing with your own skills to

allow you to participate in joint project work focused on establishing and developing existing companies.

development of existing companies x the various types of visualisation of products and concepts x the legal aspects concerning product development and company start-ups

Skills The student can:

x consider and contribute to the implementation of the company’s sales and marketing activities x consider the use of IT and technology in connection with the start-up of companies and

development projects x be able to analyse and assess the economic aspects of business ideas and development projects x be able to perform basic visualisation in connection with communicating business ideas x be able to communicate their own professionalism to fellow students and business partners x relate to the operation of the new company within the areas of IT technology, finance, as well as

sales and marketing.

x be able to collaborate with others with different professional backgrounds on the establishment of a company and its development projects

x be able to reflect on the opportunities and challenges in connection with the establishment, the operation and the development, as well as taking decisions regarding personal contributions to the process and identifying their own learning needs

Science of theory and methodology Innovation and development : Timing: 1. semester Scope: 5 ECTS Content:

x The objective is to qualify the student to be able to analyse, understand and assess the applicability of paradigms, theories, methods and techniques in relation to innovation and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the objective is to understand, analyse and apply basic aspects regarding scientific work methods, including information searching and gathering and the assessment thereof, aimed at communicating the analysed information within innovation and entrepreneurship on an academically scientific level.

x the primary paradigms and theories in the theory of science and how they impact innovation and entrepreneurship

x the methodological implications of the theory of science and about methodological approaches that support the generation of reliable and valid learning objectives

x and be able to reflect on practice in relation to the establishment of organisations, professional networks and project management

x The aim is to develop the students’ entrepreneurial mind-set in order to be able to manage the creative and the unpredictable and to be goal-orientated and structured in their work. In this connection, the student will gain insight into his/her own strengths and weaknesses in relation to creating the best solutions in collaboration with others. The purpose of the educational element is furthermore to enable the student to identify, assess and deal with strategic growth opportunities for a newly started as well as an established company. Taking the company’s development stage as a point of departure, the student must be able to assess, justify, select and implement the structure needed to support growth.

Learning objectives: Knowledge The student has knowledge about:

x development-based practice for growth in new and already established companies x methods for identifying, analysing, evaluating and developing concrete business and growth

possibilities x cost benefit analyses and various financing alternatives x the possibilities for counselling and sparring in connection with the identification of growth

3.4 Elective course elements The elective course elements consist of study activities corresponding to 15 ECTS.

3.5 Internship PBIE is an independently rounded course that includes both theory and practice. The internship, in conjunction with the theoretical parts of the programme, should strengthen the student's learning and contribute to the achievement of the programme objectives for learning outcomes. In the internship, the student works with relevant academic issues and acquires knowledge of relevant business functions. The student is active in applying for an internship at one or more private or public companies, and Lillebaelt Academy ensures the framework for the internship. The internship is unpaid. 3.5.1. Rules for completion of internship Requirements for the parties involved The internship company provides a contact person for the student during the internship. The contact person, in collaboration with the student, formulates an internship agreement, stipulating which tasks the student will work with during the internship. The tasks must cover the learning objectives for the internship.

When organizing the internship, account must be taken of the student's prerequisites and knowledge. The practical agreement is then forwarded to the educational institution for approval. Lillebaelt Academy has appointed a number of internship counsellors PBIE one of whom acts as a sparring partner for the student throughout the internship, and serves as an examiner for the internship report.

3.6 Requirements for the final exam project The final exam project for the PBIE must document the student's understanding of practice and centrally applied theory and methodology in relation to a practical issue based on a specific assignment within the field of education. The student, possibly in collaboration with a private or public company, formulates the issue, which thus has to be central to the education and the profession. Lillebaelt Academy approves the issue. The exam in the final project is conducted as an external exam, which together with the examination after the internship and the other examinations of the program must prove that the learning outcomes of the program have been achieved. The exam consists of a written project and an oral defence, giving a single overall grade. The exam can only take place after the student has passed the final internship exam and the other examinations of the programme. Learning outcome includes the knowledge, skills and competencies that the student must acquire in the course of the programme, cf. the prescribed Ministerial Order no. 151 of 15/02/2013. 3.6.1 How formulation and spelling skills affect assessment In the assessment of the [final project / bachelor project], the student's spelling and wording skills will be included, regardless of the language in which the project is written, as the academic content is weighted the heaviest, cf. the Examination Order section 35, 4. 3.7 Teaching and working methods There are several different teaching and working methods at Lillebaelt Academy. For example lectures, case studies, business projects, minor assignments, practical and theoretical exercises, laboratory work, oral presentation, homework, excursions and the like. The teaching can be theme-oriented, as well as divided into different subjects. The purpose of the working methods is that the students, through the methods chosen by the programme, acquire knowledge, skills and competencies within the core components of the programme, and that the student also uses these in accordance with the learning objectives of the programme. The more detailed description of the course learning, i.e. objectives, content, structure, working methods, etc., appear in lesson plans available on Fronter.

3.8 Differentiated teaching Differentiated teaching applies as appropriate. 3.9 Study language PBIE is an English-language programme, and all the teaching is in English. In some cases, it may be possible to follow elective course elements in Danish, and it will be possible to complete the internship in a Danish-language company.

4. Internationalisation 4.1 Compulsory study trip As part of the program, a study trip abroad is carried out in connection with 2 semesters. The detailed description and terms of the study trip are described in the document "Study trip", located on Fronter.

Exemption may be granted for participation in the study trip. In these cases, the student must participate in a 5 ECTS elective sbject offered in collaboration with the bachelor's degree in International Sales and Marketing 4.2 Studying abroad All full-time courses at the Lillebaelt Academy must be organized so that the student, within the prescribed study period, has the opportunity to complete parts of the education abroad. In the PBIE the following course elements can be carried out abroad: Internships Semester 2 Course elements taken as part of a stay abroad can be credited to the programme if they meet the content and level requirements described in this curriculum. Lillebaelt Academy must receive and approve the application for credit before the student commences the stay abroad. The decision is taken based on a professional assessment. The student commits by the prior approval of a study stay abroad, to document the approved study programme’s completed elements after completion of the stay. In connection with the prior approval, the student agrees that the institution may obtain the necessary information upon completion of the study stay. A qualified element of education is deemed to be completed if it is passed according to the rules for the relevant programme. 4.3 Agreements with foreign educational institutions on parallel courses

5.1 General rules for exams For tests and examinations at Lillebaelt Academy, the rules in BEK no. 1046 of 30/06/2016 apply:

In addition, the most recently published version of Lillebaelt Academy’s "Rules for holding exams for full-time programmes at Lillebaelt Academy," available at eal.dk.

Starting a programme element, semester, etc., counts as enrolment in the corresponding tests. It is not possible to withdraw.

5.2 Description of exams The following gives an overview of tests and examinations in PBIE. Requirements and details of the individual tests, including the examination period, formalities and the use of aids, appear in the Examination Catalogue on Fronter.

The student can be tested in several course elements for the same exam, and each test will appear as a combined grade on the diploma. See also the schedule below for the timing of the exams.

5.3 Other requirements for completing activities In addition to the above-mentioned exams, a number of requirements for completion of compulsory activities are required by the student in order to sit the examination and continue the programme, cf. the Examination Order § 10 and § 5.3.

5.3.1 Compulsory learning activities: Participation and hand-in requirements Several course elements require that the student must have completed a number of compulsory learning activities in order to participate in the exam. If the compulsory learning activities are not completed, the student cannot participate in the exam and has used one exam attempt. The student is automatically enrolled for the next exam, and must continue to meet the conditions for admission to the exam. The compulsory learning activities vary from course element to course element and may include participation requirements, presentations or hand-in assignments. The compulsory learning activities of the PBIE are described as admission requirements for examinations and are shown in the Examination Catalogue on Fronter.

5.3.2 Beginning of semester aptitude assessment test A student must pass the beginning of semester aptitude assessment test in order to continue on the programme, cf. the Examination Order § 10

Beginning of semester aptitude assessment test Timing: The aptitude test is held at the latest two months after the start of semester Form: The aptitude test is described in the Examination Catalogue Assessment: Pass/fail Basis for access: None Consequences of failing: If the student fails the exam in the first try, the student has the opportunity to participate in a re-examination, which is held within three months after the start of the programme. If the student does not pass the examination, the student cannot continue in the programme and will be withdrawn, cf. the Examination Order § 10. Particulars regarding the aptitude test: The aptitude assessment test is not covered by the rules for complaints about tests, cf. the Examination Order Section 10, 4. Lillebaelt Academy may grant dispensation for the individual student from the dates stipulated to pass the test on grounds of illness, maternity leave or exceptional circumstances. These conditions must be documented.

5.3.3 Study activity requirements: First-year exam

For business academy and bachelor programmes, all tests and exams that the student must take by the end of the first year of the programme after beginning studies (first-year exam), must be passed by the end of the second year after beginning studies in order to continue in the programme.

Note that the first-year examination, as described in this section, does not consist of an exam but the requirement that all examinations in the first year must be passed before the end of the first year of study.

Consequences of not passing the first-year exam

If a student does not pass the exam in the relevant elements of the course, the student will be withdrawn from the program, cf. the Examination Order § 8. 1 and the Access Order Section 37 (1). 1, no. 4.

5.4 Use of aids for exams All aids are, as a rule, permitted, unless otherwise specified in the Examination Catalogue.

5.5 Language used for exams The language of the exam is the same as the language of instruction of the individual subjects, i.e. either Danish or English. In Danish-language examinations, it is possible to pass the tests in Swedish or Norwegian, unless the purpose of the test is to document the student's proficiency in Danish, cf. the Examination Order § 18. If the academy has decided to complete all or part of the education with English-language tuition, where there are joint classes with Danish and international students, it is permitted to complete an exam in Danish unless the purpose of the course is to Is to document foreign language skills.

6. Other rules for the programme

6.1 Credit and transfers It is possible to transfer credits from other institutions or the like to an educational programme at Lillebaelt Academy. In each case, Lillebaelt Academy approves merit based on completed education and employment that can be measured according to subjects, educational elements and internship elements of the programme at Lillebaelt Academy. The decision is taken based on a professional assessment. The student is obliged to disclose completed course elements from another Danish or foreign higher education and employment that is relevant for a merit assessment.

6.2 Credit agreements

6.3 Credit agreements and transfers Transfers to the same programme at another institution may take place, unless exceptional circumstances occur, at the earliest when the student has passed tests corresponding to the first year of study of the receiving programme; cf. the Access Order Section 36 (2). Relocation requires that there are available seats in the relevant phase of the programme.

6.4 Dispensation regulations Lillebaelt Academy may depart from what the institution or institutions themselves have provided for in this curriculum if exceptional circumstances are justified. A student must apply for dispensation and document the exceptional circumstances for dispensation. Lillebaelt Academy will process the case and make a decision, when available. The detailed rules for dispensation and application for this are described at the Lillebaelt Academy website: www.eal.dk.

6.5 Leave of absence It is possible to apply for leave from the programme, e.g. maternity leave, adoption or call for military service. Lillebaelt Academy cannot award a student leave before the student has passed the examinations after the first year of study of an academy or a bachelor's degree program or has completed the first half of the year in an independent postgraduate education (professional bachelor). Detailed rules for leave and application for this appear at the Lillebaelt Academy website: www.eal.dk. Lillebaelt Academy can dispense with these rules under exceptional circumstances.
