Finishing Legs• FRONT LEGS: Place 2 legs right up against each other, with RS of both legs facing you. Us-ing the long CC1 tail from the left leg, whip stitch across 3 sts to join the legs (photo b-4). Fasten off & weave in the end after sewing.

Assembling• Place the hair on the top of the head, cover-ing the straight edge of the head. The long MC1 (MC2) tail will be on the left & the CC1 tail will be on the right (photo d-1).

• Using the long MC1 (MC2) tail from the hair, back stitch along the scalloped edge on RS (pho-to d-2).

• Flip the head with the hair to WS & whip stitch across the straight edge of the head using the long CC1 tail from the head (photo d-3).

• Place the ears on each side of the head be-hind the hair (photo d-5).

• Thread the needle with a single strand of MC1 (MC2) & back stitch along the scalloped edge on RS (photo d-6).

• Flip the head to WS & whip stitch across the straight edge of the ears using the long CC1 tail from the ears (photo d-7). Take extra care when sewing to prevent gray yarn from showing on RS.

• Place the eyes as you like & back stitch around the edge using the CC4 tail from the eyes (photo d-8).

• Thread the needle with a double strand of CC4 & stitch the nose as follows -->

STEP 1: long straight stitch in the center of the head along the sts of the last row (pho-to d-9, page 16); STEP 2: Long straight stitch diagonally to the right (photo d-10, page 16); STEP 3: Long straight stitch diagonally to the left (photo d-11, page 16).

• Place the head onto the left edge of the body, approximately 2 scallops above the long MC1 (MC2) tail of the body (photo d-12).

• Thread the needle with a single strand of MC1 (MC2) & back stitch along the scalloped edge of the head on RS; then thread the needle with a single strand of CC1 & back stitch along the overlapping edges of the head & the ear on RS (photos d-13 & d-14, page 17).

• Flip the rug to WS & whip stitch across the scalloped edge of the body using a single strand of MC1 (MC2) (photo d-15).

• Place the front legs on the left from the long MC1 (MC2) tail of the body, under the scalloped edge. Then skip 4 scallops to the right & place the back legs under the scalloped edge of the body (photo d-16).

• Using the long MC1 (MC2) tail from the body (or thread needle for back legs), back stitch along the scalloped edge on RS (photo d-17).

• Flip the rug to WS & whip stitch across the straight edge of the legs using the long CC1 tail from the legs (photo d-18).

• With WS of the stem & the flower facing you, place the stem on top of the flower & whip stitch around the overlapped edge using the long CC5 tail from the stem (photo d-22).

• Place the flower as you like right up against the bottom edge of the head (photos d-23 & d-24, page 19).

• Using corresponding yarn colors, whip stitch through the back loops across adjoining edges & back stitch across overlapping edges (photo d-25, page 19).

• Place the tail under the right edge of the body between the scallops, approximately 2 scallops above the back legs (photo d-19).

• Using the long MC1 (MC2) tail from the tail, back stitch along the scalloped edge on RS (pho-to d-20), then flip the rug to WS & whip stitch around the remaining edge of the tail (photo d-21).
