Welcome to Burnley Arts Centre! Burnley Arts Centre is located just outside of Burnley town centre and is a unique venue which includes two fantastic buildings; Burnley Youth Theatre and The Moira Preston Building. The venue houses a 158 seat state of the art theatre, 3 studio spaces, 2 outdoor performance spaces, a warm and welcoming foyer and has free parking on site.

Burnley Arts Centre has a programme of high quality visiting professional theatre ‘On Tour’ which attracts well renowned theatre companies such as Little Angel, The Unicorn and The Royal Exchange and is aimed at children, young people and family audiences. Burnley Youth Theatre is based here and has a rich programme of activity for children and young people ages 0-25 (see reverse of brochure for more details.) We host an Alternative Workshops programme for children, young people and adults including sessions in dance, music, art and crafts. An Artisan Market will be held here once a month and will include arts, craft and food stalls and has free entry and free parking.

HANSEL & GRETELby Byteback Theatre

Once upon a time there were three hungry travellers with a story to tell… Listen to the tale of little Hansel and clever Gretel as they wander the woods and meet a very sweet witch with a very sour secret. This dynamic family show has been devised by our resident theatre company, Byteback, who have produced pieces for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and create bespoke children’s theatre in partnership with local schools.

Arts AwardThis session, delivered by the music service and Burnley Youth Theatre, offers children and young people an inspiring arts journey whilst gaining a national qualification. Through completing an arts award, you will develop creativity, leadership and communication skills.Junior Session (Ages 7 - 11) Thursday 4pm - 5pm

ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Adult ConnectA drama session for people aged 18+ with disabilities and learning difficulties. The group will create exciting work combining movement, drama, voice, music and lighting.Wednesday 1:30pm-3pm Cost £3 per session
Adult DanceAn energetic dance fitness class for adults led by choreographer Kat Osborn. Delve into styles such as Zumba, Salsa, Street Dance & Musical Theatre in this high energy fitness class.Thursday 12pm-1pm Cost £4 per session
Sketchbooks & Journal Making WorkshopSpend the day with artist Priscilla Jones learning how to create scrap-books and journals out for your old fabrics, scrap paper/card and haberdashery.Saturday 10th May 10am – 2:30pm Cost £38 for the day
Artisan Market Every second Sunday of each month from 10am - 4pm, Burnley Arts Centre will host an Artisan market with arts, crafts and food stalls. Shop for beautiful gifts, original art and local food produce. Free entry and parking.Sunday 13th April
