What is an Athletic Therapist?

The scope of practice of a

Certified Athletic Therapist

includes the assessment,

prevention, immediate care, and

reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries.

Field assessment and care Clinical assessment and

rehabilitation

Admission Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma plus:

English, Grade 12 (ENG4U) Biology, Grade 12 (U) Plus one of:

Physics, Grade 12 (U) or Chemistry, Grade 12 (U) or Math, Grade 12 (U)

Three additional Grade 12 credits at the U or M level. Minimum 65% average in each course

OR

Two semesters of postsecondary education including required courses with a minimum 65% in each course.

Direct Entry and Advanced Standing

Do you have a University degree? (B Kin, BHK, BPE, BSc)

Consideration for advanced standing into 2nd year is made with completion of the following: Completion of the first year curriculum learning

objectives via completed B Kin, BHK, BPE or BSc degree courses

Minimum grade of 65% in each course that covers the learning objectives of the Sheridan courses

Completion of supplementary package requirements
