The Automotive Technology Management (ATM) Bachelor of Science degree prepares students for a wide variety of professional careers in the automotive, heavy truck and alternative fueled vehicles industry. Automotive-related career paths include customer service representative, field service engineer, product improvement specialist, engineering technician, district service manager, transportation planner, sales representative for mass merchandisers/ distributors, insurance claims adjuster, and automotive technology instructor/trainer. Graduates of the Automotive Technology Management program have the skills necessary to compete for successful technical and management positions with domestic and foreign automotive corporations such as Ford, Chrysler, General Motors, Honda, Smith Electric Vehicles, Toyota, and Cummins, as well as original equipment manufacturers and suppliers. The program has been in existence since 1968 and is one of less than 20 institutions nationwide offering a Bachelor’s of Science in Automotive Technology Management degree. The ATM program at UCM is the only BS degree in automotive technology in the country that holds both full accreditation by The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) and certification by The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). Under the Choose Red Grant, residents of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma can receive in-state tuition. 2+2 degree completion is also available.
