Psychology is an exciting field focusing on the study of the
human mind and behavior. Some students pursue psychology
simply because they’re interested in people and what makes
them tick. Others pursue the major to prepare for a career in
psychology or social work.
The Wesleyan Fellows program will enrich your college
experience and enhance your career opportunities. This grant-
based work-study program encourages creative thinking and
resourceful problem-solving. You will gain valuable knowledge
and skills with a Wesleyan professor or an off-campus
supervisor as your mentor. For more information on Wesleyan Fellows, visit kwc.edu/wesleyan-fellows.
A psychology major provides students with an excellent background for applying to graduate school in
psychology and ultimately becoming a practicing psychologist. A bachelor’s degree in psychology is also
excellent preparation for careers in fields such as business, law and social work.
We have well established relationships with many agencies in Owensboro and surrounding communities so our
students can gain practical experience and better prepare for life after
Kentucky Wesleyan College. Options include:
Undergraduate research experiences.
Research project in senior capstone course.
Psychology Club Psych Bowl Competition.
Practicums at organizations such as River Valley Behavioral Health,
OASIS, New Beginnings, Boulware Center and Mary Kendall Home.
