Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of a yellow bindi 4½” square. Place the square on top of the right side of a snow white shade 4½” x 8½” rectangle and sew on the line. Leave a ¼” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. Repeat on the other side using a blue diamond 4½” square. This will make 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Flying Geese Units.

Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of a snow white shade 5” square. Place the snow white shade 5” square on top of an orange circles 5” square. Sew ¼” on each side of the line. Cut on the lines to make 2 Half Square Triangles. Press. Square up the Half Square Triangles to 4½”. Repeat to make 4 Half Square Triangles.

Referring to quilt photo for placement of pieces, sew together the Center Unit, 4 Flying Geese Units, and 4 Half Square Triangles to create the Bahli Wood Block. Repeat to make 4 Bahli Wood Blocks.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to quilt photo for placement of blocks. Lay out blocks in 2 rows of 2 blocks. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 32½”. Top and bottom borders should be 36½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 36½”. Top and bottom borders should be 42½”.

Border 3Side borders should be 42½”. Top and bottom borders should be 46½”.

Border 4Side borders should be 46½”. Top and bottom borders should be 54½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Madhuri Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.

CUTTING REQUIREMENTSPlease read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces.

Cut 4 squares 5¼” x 5¼” from red circles. Cut each square twice diagonally to create 16 triangles.Cut 4 squares 5¼” x 5¼” from snow white shade. Bahli Wood BlockNote: The blue diamond and yellow bindi prints are directional. Be careful when drawing the diagonal line on the back of the fabric.

These instructions are to make 1 block. Sew a red circles triangle to a snow white triangle to create Unit A. Repeat to make 4 Unit A’s. Sew a Unit A to a blue diamond triangle to create Unit B. Repeat to make 4 Unit B’s. Sew the 4 Unit B’s together to create the Center Unit.
