RBT"1 Premium Thread Connections - Extend Valve Life
Metal-to-Metal Seal
Torque Shoulder
Metal-to-Metal Seal
The RBT Premium Thread Connection is a two-step threaded connection with metal-lo-metal seals at the box and pin noses
and a center locating torque shoulder.
Baker's RBT Premium Thread Connections form the outer housing connections for the valves. The connection's two-step design distributes thread load to impart greater strength than single-step designs. The metal-to-metal seal points at the box and pin noses provide enhanced pressure containing capabilities. The number of connections is kept to a minimum to limit potential leak paths.

T-Series Valves use the same ultra-strong flapper closure mechanisms lhat have proven practically indastructible in other Baker retrievable safety valves.
Baker's ultra-strong flapper closure mechanism withstands high-velocity slam closures and protects the valve seat of the T-Series Valve from stress-induced damage to ensure
reliable sealing, time after time. The flapper design moves the first point of contact away from the seat, to the flow tube, to minimize loading on the hinge and flapper pin during valve opening and closing. This design also causes the impact from a slam closure to be hydraulically absorbed by the flow tube, not the flapper seat. A unique, highly
reliable, dual-hinge configuration provides added strength during opening and closing and virtually eliminates flapper pin bending.
Both curved and wedge-shaped flappers are available. The curved flapper accommodates smaller valve diameters in slimline designs. Either flapper is available with Baker's patented Thru-the-Flapper Self-Equalizing7 System.
Control Line Jam Nut System - Reduces Potential Leak Paths Conventional NPTConneclic
T-Series Safety Valves use Baker's patented Control Line Jam Nut System with front and rear ferrules to reduce the
potential leak path to one at the critical point where the control line connects to the safety valve. The typical control
line connection (NPT connector) used by other safety valve suppliers has two potential leak paths.
Baker's patented Control Line Jam Nut System has no internal mechanism to complicate design and function.
Baker Premium Safety Valve Protection
Just because you operate in standard pressure and temperature environments doesn't mean you don't
need premium safety valve protection. If your downhole safety valve fails during normal intervention operations, the results can be very expensive,
particularly if you are working in deepwater. Baker Oil Tools T-Series
Non-Elastomeric Tubing-Retrievable Safety Valves offer unmatched
protection for a wide range of applications from low end standard service through HP/HT applications. With T-Series Safety Valves, you can
count on premium performance, reliability and service life in operating environments with working pressures from 5,000 -13,500 psi and temperatures from 20cF - 300T.
T-Series Valves combine these key features to deliver the most rugged, reliable, and truly fall-safe surface controlled subsurface safety valves: Field-proven non-elastomeric sealing technology Patented radial punch control fluid communication system Minimum number of premium metal-to-metal housing connections Patented control line jam nut connection Optional through-the-flapper, metal-to-metal self-equalizing system Expanding flapper lock-open tool

Unique Permanent Lock Open - Has no internal valve mechanism to complicate design and function
T-Series Safety Valves are of the normally closed type. However, if normal pressure integrity of the valve is lost for any reason, it can be permanently locked in the open position with a Baker Flapper Lock-Open (FLO) Tool. Unlike other permanent lock-open tools, which are characterized by an integral shifting sleeve at the bottom of the flow tube, the FLO tool is not an integral part of the valve. Instead, the expanding sleeve is inserted into the flapper section only when required. As a result, there is no accidental activation, and the tool is not exposed to potentially degrading long-term downhole conditions.

No Linear Sleeves - Prevents Inadvertent Actuation
Extensive studies by operators and independent research institutes show that accidental actuation of the control fluid communication system and
resulting leakage between the hydraulic control line chamber and the tubing wellbore is the primary cause of safety valve failures. Baker has solved that problem in the T-Series Safety Valves by removing the lock-open sleeve from the valve and incorporating a patented radial punch communication system. This unique communication system: Leaves the valve with a smooth ID, free of sleeves or other devices that
move linearly and can hang up wireline or coiled tubing-conveyed tools Provides an uninterrupted control fluid path to the piston
Activates only by radial motion of a one-trip, jar-down wireline tool Eliminates the possibility of accidental activation of the lock-open feature
by a tool passing through the ID of the valve
To date, after seven years of service and thousands of installations, there have been no failures of T-Series Safety Valves due to premature lock-open.
RATING" Envelope - Provides Safe Performance Evaluation
The combination of powerful computers, sophisticated numerical simulation techniques, and exhaustive laboratory testing has enabled Baker Oil Tools to develop the industry's
new standards of predicting a safety valve's performance capabilities under all possible loading conditions.

Operation The T-Series safety vaJve is controlled from the surface via a small-diameter hydraulic control line that connects the safety valve to the surface emergency shutdown system. Because the valve fs of the normally closed type, it automatically returns to the closed position when applied control line
pressure is removed, thus shutting in the well. Key Features No linear communication sleeves - prevent
inadvertent actuation Rating envelope - provides safe performance
evaluation RBT premium thread connections - extend valve life Ultra strong flapper closures - ensure reliable,
repeated sealing Control line jam nut system - reduces potential
leak paths Unique permanent lock open Radial punch secondary communication Optional thru-the-flapper self-equalizing system
Optional Thru-the-Flapper Self-Equalizing System Design keeps production fluids and solids inside the flow tube in
open and closed positions for trouble free operation and provides Class 2 Sandy Service rating for all sizes The plunger is made from an erosion and corrosion resistant
material with pressure drop in plunger throat and nor at inlet - to prevent erosion and corrosion Feature is incorporated into the flapper to provide simple
conversion to and from self-equalizing and non-self-equalizrng versions
How the Self-Equalizing System works
1. When the valve is closed, the equalizing mechanism's port is protected from contaminates.
2. Close the wsng valve and pressure up the control line to the safety valve's opening pressure. The flow tube depresses the
plunger to open an equalizing path prior to the valve opening.
3. The equalizing feature will allow the pressure to equalize above and
below the flapper. When the pressure is equalized, the safety valve will open.
4. The flapper is completely out of the flow path, the equalizing feature
returns to the closed position and the safety valve is fully open. Open the wing valve and (low the well as
required.
Pressure drop occurs away from the inlet to prevent erosion ol the seat.
MetaMometal seat prevents damage from unloading against differentia! pressure.
Flow is not across seal.
