Balanced design studio specializes in graphic, whimsical and happy patterns for the modern lifestyle. Our designs are inspired by the paintings of Mark Rothko and Morris Louis, the vibrant color combinations that pop up in nature and the simplest of shapes, like the imprint of a bird's foot in the sand. Striking the balance between the green-est possible solution and good design, we incorporate as many eco-friendly principles as possible. In addition to our own line, we offer custom capabilities from design concept through production.

Balanced Design is proud to be a part of the continuing tradition of American made crafts. Our pillows are manufactured in Fall River, Massachusetts, once the center of textiles for the USA. The fabrics are hand printed in an historic Rhode Island textile mill that has been family owned for more than 80 years and is just down the road from our sunny Providence, Rhode Island studio.

wOOL RUgS Tufted 100% new zealand wool rugs are for indoor use only. exposure to direct sunlight is a factor to consider in placement. vacuum regularly. Remove spills immediately. Professionally clean every two years. Do not apply stain repellent treatment containing silicone. Sprouting and shedding of yarn is expected for several months and is not a defect. If this happens, lift the fibers gently and trim flush with rug.

Payments are processed when order ships. Shipping is charged to the customer account number provided and is standard ground unless otherwise specified.

Fabric orders are To The TRADe and are a minimum of 3 yards. custom fabrics require a 50% non-refundable deposit.

Rug orders are TO The TRADe and sold per square foot. custom sizes other than listed are available. Design fees may apply. Strike offs are available. rugs require a 50% non-refundable deposit.

All pillow orders are shipped 2–8 weeks unless buyer and Balanced Design® agree otherwise at time of order. Rug orders have a lead time of 8–10 weeks. custom fabric lead time is 8 weeks.

Orders can not be cancelled or changed without prior written consent.
