The Baltic Aviation Academy training centre offers a full range of personally tailored initial and recurrent training for pilots or cabin crew designed to develop professional careers with an aircraft of choice or to become an instructor or examiner, leading to better employment opportunities or to prepare personnel for a temporary assignment abroad.

Baltic Aviation Academy is located in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is a very convenient geographical location for customers from the East and from the West. Our aviation training activities extend to many other regions. Baltic Aviation Academy operates Full Flight Simulators in the USA, Spain, France and other countries.

The academy occupies a 1,329.49 sq. m. training facility close to the Vilnius International Airport and also not far away from the city centre. It is an integrated training complex with modern auditoriums, rest areas, dining rooms, library, free wireless internet access, a souvenir shop, etc.

Today Baltic Aviation Academy conducts 40 training programmes, which are taught by 135 highly-qualified instructors from various countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Slovenia, Austria and Latvia to name but a few.

Most of the instructors working at the academy have flown thousands of hours; therefore, they are able to apply real-life experience to the training environment. The instructors regularly go through refresher training and maintain their

There are 8 modern ground school auditoriums in the main training centre, equipped with audio and visual equipment, whiteboards, training desks, video projectors, headphones and visual training material. Two classrooms are dedicated to Computer Based training, software provider – CBT (including LMS, Learning Management System). There are also 4 briefing/debriefing rooms in the simulator area. Recently an aviation library has been established to help our students find any additional information that they may require.

Instructors

The Balti c Aviati on Academy entry process begins the moment our representati ve meets the student at Vilnius Internati onal Airport. The academy will help arrange a visa, schedule a fl ight physical and provide accommodati on as well as transportati on to and from the training faciliti es.

Physical statUsJAR – FCL Class 1 Medical Certi fi cate is required. Flight physicals are available at the Lithuanian Aviati on Medical Centre (Vilnius University Antakalnis Hospital, Antakalnis str. 124, Vilnius).

theoRetical PRePaRationThe knowledge of mathemati cs, English and physics are of key importance for aviati on. A skill assessment can be organized for those who have low grades from secondary school or do not have them at all.

PeRsonal skillsThe Balti c Aviati on Academy selecti on commission organizes a personal skill assessment based on psychological tests and individual interviews.

The academy uses a benchmark principle module for candidate assessment. The candidate assessment commission in cooperati on with the airline client representati ves prepares the student pilot candidate profi le which is used for candidate assessment during the selecti on process.

Flight Physical

Applicants seeking 1st Class Medical Certificates shall complete the medical examination at the Aviation Medicine Centre in Vilnius only.

Baltic Aviation Academy coordinates and schedules the medical examination at a time which is convenient for the candidate and as close as possible to his personal assessment.

• Flight physicals cover a one or two-day time period.

• The price of this medical examination is 270 EUR (Payment must be done in cash at the Aviation Medical Centre).

candidate skill assessment

The skill assessments are used to identify those students who have the greatest possibility of completing the training programmes successfully and working for an air carrier after graduation.

These assessments are conducted at the Baltic Aviation Academy in Vilnius over a two-day period. Day one:

• Introductory interview;• Mathematics , physics and English language

knowledge assessment.

Candidate Entrance Process

Day two:

Psychological assessment:

• Numerical and verbal reasoning, behavior traits, professional interest assessment;

• Structured interview based on a commercial pilot competence model.

The cost of a candidate skill assessment is 100 EUR. This is included in the training price for those who sign a contract with the academy.

Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL(A)) Training CourseThis is an intensive training programme. In the shortest time possible, students will acquire professional skills which will allow them to start their career as a commercial pilot. This

programme enables students to operate as a co-pilot on multi-pilot, multi-engine airplanes in commercial air transportation and to obtain the CPL(A)/IR, ME (ATPL Frozen) license.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• Age: 18 years old and over;

• Physical Status: Valid Class 1 Medical Certifi cate;

• Theoretical preparation: knowledge of mathematics, English and physics is of key importance. A skills assessment can be organized by the academy for those having low or no grades from secondary school;

• Emotional and social competence: all candidates must complete special tests and interviews developed by the Baltic Aviation Academy selection commission for social competence assessment.

Ground Training:

The theoretical knowledge course (Ground School) consists of fourteen (14) theoretical subjects, approximately 770 hours, including classroom work, professional manuals and CD-based progress tests.

MULTI-CREw CO-OPERATION COURSE (MCC)

The MCC course develops all important team skills by teaching the candidate how to work in a multi-crew environment.

Students will complete a total of 20 hours of ground training and 15 hours in the FFS or FNTPII.

Modular Commercial Pilot License (CPL(A)) Training Course

The CPL modular training course consists of two training stages:• First stage – PPL training course;• Second stage – CPL/IR training course.

This program enables students to operate as private pilots and co-pilots on single/multi-engine airplanes in commercial air transportation and to obtain the PPL and CPL/IR/ME license.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:Ground Training:

The theoretical knowledge course (ground school) consists of fourteen (14) theoretical subjects, lasting approximately 780 hours, including classroom work, professional manuals and computer-based (CBT) training.

Modular Instrument Rating (IR(A)) Training CourseThe objective of the Instrument Rating IR(A) modular fl ight training course is to train pilots to the level of profi ciency necessary to operate

airplanes under the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• Age: 18 years old and over;• Valid PPL(A) or CPL(A) license;• Valid JAR-FCL Class 1 Medical Certifi cate;• 50 hours of a cross-country fl ight as a

pilot-in-command (PIC); • English language profi ciency.

Ground Training:

Ground training (ground school) consists of 8 subjects, 200 hours, taught using professional training manuals. The theoretical training is conducted at the Baltic Aviation Academy training centre.

Multi-Engine Piston (MEP)Training Course

The objective of the multi-engine airplane training course is to train pilots to the level of profi ciency

necessary to operate multi-engine airplanes and to obtain a multi-engine qualifi cation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• 70 hours as a pilot-in-command (PIC); • Valid PPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A) license;• Valid JAR-FCL Class 1 Medical Certifi cate;• Valid SEP IR rating;• English language profi ciency.

Ground Training:

Ground training consists of 6 subjects, 7 hours. The theoretical training is conducted at the Baltic Aviation Academy training centre.

Modular Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL(A)) Theory Training Course

The objective of the ATPL(A) modular course is to prepare students for the JAA/CAA examination.

This examination will be taken at the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration in Vilnius.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• 18 years old and over;• Valid PPL(A) license;• Valid JAR-FCL Class 1 Medical Certifi cate;• English language profi ciency.

Theory Training:

The theoretical knowledge course consists of fourteen (14) theoretical subjects, approximately 620 hours. It includes classroom and individual study, professional manuals and CD-based progress tests.

Duration:

Course duration depends on the intensity of the training process. The schedule is set up on the assumption that an applicant completes 19 self-study hours per week. The total length of the course is approximately 8 months. The maximum length of the course is up to 18 months.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

• 16 years old and over;• Valid JAR-FCL Class 1 or Class 2 Medical

Certifi cate.

Ground Training:

Ground training consists of 10 subjects taught using professionally-prepared teaching aids. Each subject is covered in a separate textbook.

VISA Support

Invitati ons are an integral part of the company’s customer service. Cooperati ng closely with the Migrati on Department of Lithuania we take care of invitati ons for visas as well as provide all the necessary informati on.

We prepare the following types of invitati ons: single and multi ple (single-entry visas into the Republic of Lithuania with a stay of not more than 45 days within a period of three months. Multi ple-entry visas into the Republic of Lithuania with a stay of up to 90 days within a period of six months). To receive this type of invitati on, companies/clients must sign a long-term contract of cooperati on with Balti c Aviati on Academy.

The academy can provide support for obtaining temporary resident status for a stay lasti ng longer than 3 months to complete integrated studies.

Balti c Aviati on Academy can off er its students long-term accommodati on at a modern, new economy – class hotel. The hotel is located in the centre of Vilnius. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the training centre by car. There are 143 rooms available. The hotel off ers free internet access (Wi-Fi) and cable TV in every room. There is a kitchen with cooking utensils located on each fl oor, where students can prepare their own meals. A self-service laundry is available as well. The hotel can off er special meals to meet guest requirements.

Balti c Aviati on Academy can also off er short-term accommodati on, when candidates are only parti cipati ng in the entrance process. The academy cooperates with the best hotels in Vilnius, therefore, the school can off er accommodati on at excellent hotels for reasonable rates.
