Dear Parents and Students: We would like to extend an invitation for you to be a part of the 2009-2010 edition of the Liberty High School Mountaineer Marching Band! Being a member of the LHS Band requires a great amount of responsibility and commitment. Over the past few years the band has been recognized on the local, state, and national levels as an outstanding musical organization. You must be willing to perform to the best of your abilities and to cooperate with the directors in order to uphold the reputation that has been set forth. With your talent and assistance, were sure we will be able to continue this great tradition and produce a top-notch performing group. Please take a few moments to review the enclosed information about the upcoming year and mark all important dates on your calendar.

BAND CAMP DATESAugust 10-13 August 17-20 5:00PM - 9:00PM (Freshmen at 4:00PM) 5:00PM - 9:00PM (Freshmen at 4:00PM)

Note: Attendance at both weeks of band camp is required! We cant teach you if you are not here! Band Camp Notes Band camp will run from 5:00PM - 9:00PM both weeks with incoming freshmen and new band members reporting one hour earlier for freshmen fundamentals. The annual band camp fee is $75.00 per student; however $15 of this fee will be refunded at the end of the season when the assigned band uniform is returned with original garment bag, hanger, and hat box. One portion of this fee will be used to help fund routine band camp expenses, paying for additional instructors and drill design, medical supplies, snacks, water, etc. Another portion of the fee covers the cost of year end uniform cleaning and uniform maintenance. The final portion of the annual fee allows us to provide each student with a logo t-shirt, a tour t-shirt, and white gloves. Checks should be made payable to: LIBERTY BAND BOOSTERS. All forms (information, consent to travel, etc.) and money should be turned in on the first day of camp. Students are not permitted to travel with the band until all forms have been properly completed. Attendance at camp is mandatory.

Students will need to bring:

Instrument Flip Folder and Instrument Lyre (available at Bandland and Percussion Center) Pencil (several actually) Camp Fee ($75.00) All Forms (information, consent to travel, etc.) Cool, comfortable clothes Comfortable Tennis Shoes (no sandals, flip flops, etc.) Socks Hat Sunglasses Sunscreen Water Bottle Important!!

NOTE: NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE CAMP FOR ANY REASON UNTIL DISMISSAL. THIS RULE IS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE A SAFE EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHILD. PLEASE DO NOT ASK. Enclosed is a Schedule of Events. Rehearsals and Performances are required and attendance will be taken. The only excused absences will be for sickness or emergencies such as death or illness in the family. If you have a job or other activities, you will need to arrange your schedule so you will be at rehearsals and performances at the designated time. Please do this well in advance!! Band Boosters Meetings Band Boosters meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00PM in the Band Room. Please help support your child by becoming actively involved.
