The island of Bandos is the perfect setting for that romantic getaway or those two weeks of bliss away from work. The sense of calm and serenity the island radiates is truly out of this world. Bandos is a 178,900 square metre coral island situated in North Malé Atoll. This idyllic resort was opened on 10 December 1972 (and renovated in 2005) as the second resort in the Maldives. Conveniently located just 7km from Malé Interna-tional Airport, Bandos has a total of 225 rooms, comprising beach front standard rooms, non-beach front standard rooms, deluxe rooms, garden villas, beach villas and water villas.

All the rooms are air-conditioned with fresh hot and cold water, IDD telephone, TV, mini-bar and private bathrooms. Deluxe rooms have living rooms and large private bathrooms with bath. Beach Villas feature two storeys, with a bedroom upstairs, a sitting/living room downstairs and an open air bathroom with Jacuzzi.

The Gallery ‒ consisting of three spacious halls open for breakfast, lunch and dinner is the main restaurant at Bandos. It usually has elaborate buffet set-ups during mealtimes and while it is open to all guests, the Gallery specialises in catering to those who have pre-booked their meals.

Aptly named, the recently commissioned Sea Breeze Café is situated at the edge of the water where customers can lounge on the large outdoor over-water deck and enjoy the breathtak-ing view of the lagoon while relaxing in the gentle breeze.Open round the clock, the restaurant offers a wide variety of dining options from à la carte of-ferings such as spaghetti or even authentic Indian curries to fast-food fixes such as pizza and hamburgers.

Dive Bandos is one of the longest estab-lished centres in the country, and our professional staff will ensure that you experience the lush underwater gardens, colourful fishes and mag-nificent seascapes in total safety and comfort.

In all emergencies, our Medical Clinic with a Decompres-sion Chamber is at your disposal. While diving with us, all divers are insured free of charge against Decompression Sickness (DCS), for cases requiring chamber treatments up to €6,000.00. Bandos Medical has two medical doctors (European): a General Practitioner and a Dive Medical Of-ficer, and a nurse on site 24 hours a day

Excursions

Island Hopping Hop off to different islands nearby and experience authentic Maldivian culture. Island hopping shows off our rich culture and crafting of the islanders in their very base while you will also get to have a look at different types of resort islands.

Kuda Bandos It’s the little island located at a stone’s throw away from Bandos. We have ferries there all week, twice daily except for public holidays. It is an uninhabited island, wonderful for sunbathing and snorkeling with so much more privacy.

Male' Tour Male’ is our capital city planted on a small island with interesting of-

ferings. Either shop for little Maldivian fruits and coconuts at the local

market or take a walk around our famous tourist strips to shop for

some souvenirs.

including turtles, mantas and varieties of starfish and corals.

A stone's throw away from the main island of Bandos lies the uninhabited island of Kuda Bandos (literally meaning small Bandos), ideal for a relaxing private picnic on the beach or for simply enjoying the sunset after a full day of snorkelling the reef or swimming in the clear blue lagoon.

Open throughout the week except Fridays, Saturdays and other public holidays, Kuda Bandos is one of the few “Robinson Crusoe” experiences available in the Maldives. The island has only very basic facilities like restrooms and showers. Water and other drinks are available for purchase from the Kuda Bandos main reception area.

Popular statistics claim that the average Maldivian consumes an average of 75 kilograms of tuna annually. Our love for fishing should then come as no surprise, and Bandos is proud to share the Maldivian flair for fishing with our guests, particularly the art of bait-less fishing.

The Water Sports centre at Bandos is run by a team of professionals who are highly skilled in their craft and are multilingual. Some of our most preferred activities include snorkelling, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, water skiing, parasailing, banana boat riding, wakeboard, knee board, fun tubes and canoeing.

For those guests who seek a more professional path to keeping fit or even relaxing, Paradise Club, the sports complex at Bandos, is the answer for both physical and mental fitness. Our gymnasium, equipped with state of the art facilities and staffed with qualified, friendly instructors, is open to all our guests free of charge. Our guests can enjoy a free aerobics session with our instructors, beach volleyball or tennis on our flood-lit courts. You might even want take a plunge in the club's freshwater swimming pool after your workout.

Convention Centre FeaturesA warm, friendly and laid back venue, Bandos Convention Centre has long been popular for its unique atmosphere and professional set-up staff, capable of coordinating international and regional conferences in the Maldives. The Bandos Convention Centre offers numerous facilities, modern equipment and experienced staff who have already hosted several international conferences with remarkable success. The Convention Centre has four rooms. The Orchid Room is the main hall and can host 450 people in theatre style and 250 people in banquet style. The hall, in addition, has two administrative offices and six translation booths with audio-visual recording facilities.
