Worldwide, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been accepted as the engine of economic growth and for promoting equitable development. The major advantage of the sector is its employment potential at low capital cost. The labour intensity of the MSME sector is much higher than that of the large enterprises.

The MSMEs are credited with generating the highest rates of employment growth and account for a major share of industrial production and exports. In India too, the MSMEs play a pivotal role in the overall industrial economy of the country. In recent years, the MSME sector has consistently registered higher growth rate compared to the overall industrial sector. The Entrepreneurial spirit and innovation nature of the MSME’s has been crucial during competitiveness in the economy. Despite the sector’s strategic importance in overall industrialization, employment generation and achieving a balanced socio-economic growth, MSMEs are confronted with several challenges that threaten to derail the sector’s growth performance. The most common challenges faced by the MSMEs are inadequate access to timely and adequate credit, which is crucial for the growth and development of these enterprises.

An Initiative to bring together Bankers & entrepreneurs

FTAPCCI in association with major banks is organizing a Bankers Conclave - FinanCial OppOrtunities FOr MsMe seCtOr on 28th and 29th January 2017 at Federation House, FTAPCCI, Red Hills, Hyderabad.

Objective

The Conclave will be an initiative to bring together Bankers and entrepreneurs and create opportunity to interact with the bankers and financial institutions. This will also be a platform to discuss key strategies, identify MSME financial needs, and deliberate on source of finance, methods to leverage on the latest

about FtapCCi

The Federation of Telangana and AndhraPradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry was established in 1917 as a Chamber of Commerce representing the entire old State of Hyderabad. It gradually evolved into an organization representing large, medium and small scale industries. It also represents wholesale, retail and small trade organizations. It consists of public, private, joint and corporate sectors, with about 150 other Chambers and Associations at State, District levels affiliated to it.FTAPCCI has 3000 members on its rolls. Its indirect membership through its affiliates covers a broad spectrum of industries and trade organizations. This year FTAPCCI is Celebrating centenary. The main function is to promote and protect the interests of trade, commerce and industry. The Federation has been actively engaged in building up rapport with the Government at the Local, State and Central level.

To promote and protect the interests of trade, commerce and industry in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The conclave is also meant to focus on the knowledge dissemination both by the bankers and practitioners through expertly planned presentations on innovation, financial inclusion, risk management and future trends envisaged for MSME sectors.

Project Proposals

To fulfill the objective, FTAPCCI invites Business Proposals along with the project report from the existing entrepreneurs and start up firms in triplicate in advance for the perusal of the bankers and financial institutions. The Bankers will have individual discussions with the entrepreneurs on the second day of the Conclave. The proposal to be sent to FTAPCCI by 20th January, 2017.

Public sector banks have been advised to open at least one specialized branch in each district. The banks have been

permitted to categorize their MSME general banking branches having 60% or more of their advances to

MSME sector, as specialized MSME branches for providing better service to this sector

as a whole. As per the policy package announced by the Government of

India for stepping up credit to MSME sector, the public sector banks will ensure specialized MSME branches in identified clusters/centres with preponderance of small enterprises to

enable the entrepreneurs to have easy access to the bank credit and to equip

bank personnel to develop requisite expertise. Though their core competence

will be utilized for extending finance and other services to MSME sector, they will have operational

flexibility to extend finance/render other services to other sectors/ borrowers.

The Conclave will see host of prominent senior officers of banks and financial institutions, industry leaders, consultants, officials from State and Central Government on the same platform to discuss on the financial opportunities. Opportunity to submit the project proposals through FTAPCCI to their preferred bankers, during one to one sessions.

What will be the outcome

The Conclave will herald a visionary approach to capitalizing opportunities under the aegis of ‘Make in India’ campaign and iron out financial challenges that are currently faced by the MSME. The conclave will also serve as a platform for representatives of the MSME community to interact with the Bankers to identify the areas for improving the doing business climate. Existing entrepreneurs and start-up firms and aspirants from the Manufacturing, Trade and IT Sectors, who are desirous of enhancing their finance prospects, are invited to actively participate and reap benefits by interacting with the bankers.Opportunity to submit the project proposals through FTAPCCI to their preferred bankers, during the one to one sessions.
