HAPPY NEW YEAR - LET’S MAKE IT A GREAT ONEDecember 2010 saw Banstead TaeKwon-Do perform a demonstration and hold a small grading for the Senior TKD and a grading for the Tiny TKD’ers.

We’re now in 2011, Happy New Year:

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and fun New Year

celebrations. All classes continued all through December and

while snow tried to dampen things it only stopped one session

in the month. Well done to everyone who battled through the

snow.

Set realistic goals for 2011 and take small steps to achieve

them. I know you can all make excellent grading passes, I know

you can win medals and trophies at competitions, I know you

can improve your fitness, strength and agility - start working

and ask for help where you need it.

Priory School Christmas Fayre Demo 2010

I’d like to say Thank You to everyone that helped the club by attending

the demonstration we did for the Priory

School at their Christmas Fayre 2010. It was

Seniors Grading December 23rd

Katie Light and Andy Palacpac had trained

with almost perfect attendance twice a week,

made great progress and therefore were

ready for an opportunity to grade. Mr Dennis

held a small grading at the full time gym in

Redhill.

I am pleased to say they both passed

with flying colours, now Katie is 8th Kup and

Andy is 9th Kup - and both working on

learning new material.

Congratulations and they're both great example students.

Tiny TKD’ers Grading December 8th

The 4 - 6 year olds have done great this

term, there’s a great bond between the

children now & they’ve worked so hard.

Thanks So Much to the parents for bringing

the children to class so regularly, it makes a

big difference to the children. Here are the

grading passes: Edie & Georgia passes to

3rd Yellow Tag; Tommy, Oscar, Diego, Lucas,

What do you do?

SPARRING GEAR*Most Seniors have their Sparring Gear now which is great,

there are some that still need it. Most Juniors don’t have

sparring gear but need it now, sparring is an important part of

TaeKwon-Do training and helps reinforce techniques and build

confidence. Sparring is light contact and the protective gear

literally offers protection against the scenario of an accidental

contact between partners. Here is a list of what is required:

1. Sparring Gloves and Boots

2. Boys / Men must have groin guard

3. Gum shield (dentist type or shop bought is fine)

4. Juniors have the option of wearing a head guard

Please make an order with me (prices --->) at the earliest

opportunity. I know it is expensive and we can do it in stages

but to make further progression sparring gear is needed.*Tiny TKD’ers don’t need Sparring Gear
