The Impenetrable Fortress from the Accursed Shaitan22 شعبان 1436 9.6.15Based on ayah 208

Allah calls the shaitan الرجيم, from رجم, which means to stone. We stone the pillars representing the shaitan in hajj, to remember that we can never have peace with the shaitan. He is also called عدو, the enemy. A description of the shaitan is الوسواس الجناس, the one who whispers, but withdraws, humiliated, when you remember Allah.

Don't ever be deceived by his advice, take him as your enemy. The shaitan beautifies the sins and discourages from good, so that you can go to the hellfire with him.

The foundation for the protective fortress we need to build around us is التوكل على اهلل, reliance upon Allah. The fortress is a means for protection; Allah is the One who protects. You mist believe that Allah is the only One who can give you the power and strength to resist the shaitan. If you rely on yourself, or the means, you will forget to recite the adhkar so many times, because the shaitan will distract you. So you need Allah to remind you. Allah is the One in charge. Allah is ,الوكيل the All Powerful and ,القوي العزيز

Irresistible, giving you the strength. Allah is الحفيظ, the One who preserves, الرب, the Nurturer. You cannot fight the shaitan by yourself. The أذكار are weapons, but you have to be strong enough to use these weapons. Their effectiveness is according to the strength of your faith. They will have no effect without tawakkul. Without this, you will get tired, stressed, sad and ungrateful, unable to continue.

As an example, if a farmer works in his fields, but the neighbour's dog comes everyday and spoils the fields, the farmer will have to go to the owner of the dog. In the same way, the رب الشيطان, the Lord of the shaitan, is Allah, and we have to go to Him to defeat the shaitan. This is faith, before you pronounce and recite the remembrances for protection. These أذكار are means, attach to رب األسباب, the Lord of the means. The ruqyah, or protective verses and duas, do not work without faith. The stronger your faith, the more your ruqyah will be effective.

35:6

1.Seeking refuge with Allah from the shaitan.

One way of seeking refuge with Allah is by saying ↙أعوذ باهلل من الشيطان الرجيمI seek refuge with Allah from the accused shaitan

The evil is injected by the shaitan into our minds.

As an example, you lose a piece of jewellery from your home, and the thought comes to mind, that the maid took it. After this, it depends on you whether you go ahead with the thought or dismiss it.

Don't take the ideas of the shaitan, nor talk about them.

Allah hears you when you pronounce اإلستعاذة, seeking refuge with Him. Allah knows your weaknesses and desperation. The isti'adha will work according to your faith. If you feel so weak before Allah, He will make your isti'adha strong.

The cure and the guidance is in the Qura'an, so whenever you want to read it, the shaitan comes to make you tired, sleepy, distracted. The solution is the isti'adha, it gives power and strength. Don't worry or stress, just rely on Allah.

يطان نزغ فاستعذ باهلل إنه سميع عليم وإما ينزغنك من الشAnd if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah . Indeed, He is

7:200

ميع العليم يطان نزغ فاستعذ باهلل إنه هو الس وإما ينزغنك من الشAnd if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah .

41:36

يطان الرجيم فإذا قرأت القرآن فاستعذ باهلل من الشSo when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy]

سورة النحل 16:98

The isti'adha is mentioned here for all evils. The people who debate and argue about the Qura'an, without any authority or proof, are form the شياطني اإلنس, the human shayateen, affecting people with their words. They have arrogance in their hearts, and cannot achieve anything by it. So when you see this kind of behaviour, make the isti'adha, don't look at yourself as better than them.

⬅ سور اإلخالص و الفلق و الناس املعوذات

إن الذين يجادلون في آيات اهلل بغير سلطان أتاهم إن في صدورهم إال كبر ما هم ببالغيه فاستعذ باهلل إنه هوميع البصير الس

Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without [any] authority having come to them - there is not within their breasts except pride, [the extent of] which they cannot reach. So

seek refuge in Allah . Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing.سورة غافر

40:56

قل هو اهلل أحدSay : He is Allah , [who is] One

مد اهلل الصAllah , the Eternal Refuge

لم يلد ولم يولدHe neither begets nor is born

ولم يكن له كفوا أحدNor is there to Him any equivalent

سورة اإلخالص 112:1-4

قل أعوذ برب الفلقSay : I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak

من شر ما خلقFrom the evil of that which He created

ومن شر غاسق إذا وقبAnd from the evil of darkness when it settles

ومن شر النفاثات في العقدAnd from the evil of the blowers in knots

ومن شر حاسد إذا حسدAnd from the evil of an envier when he envies

سورة الفلق 113:1-5

These surahs for protection are recited at certain times and circumstances ↙🔻 Once after obligatory prayers 🔻 Thrice in the morning and evening supplications🔻 Before you sleep, recite them in three sets of one each, blow on your hands, and rub your hands over the body🔻 For sickness, use as ruqyah🔻 At times of violent winds and intense darkness

2.The tasmiyah, to say بسم اهلل الرحمن الرحيم

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said :

إذا دخل الرجل بيته، فذكر اهلل تعالى عند دخوله وعند طعامه، قال الشيطان ألصحابه : ال مبيت لكم وال عشاء، وإذا دخل ، فلم يذكر اهلل تعالى عند

دخوله، قال الشيطان : أدركتم املبيت؛ وإذا لم يذكراهلل تعالى عند طعامه قال : أدركتم املبيت والعشاء.صحيح مسلم، رياض الصالحني، كتاب # 3، حديث # 730

If a person mentions the Name of Allah upon entering his house or eating, Satan says, addressing his followers: You will find no where to spend the night and no dinner. But if he enters without mentioning the Name of Allah, Satan says (to his followers) : You have found (a place) to spend the night in, and if he does not mention the Name of Allah at the time of eating, Satan says: You have found (a place) to spend the night in as well as food.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : لو أن أحدكم إذا أتى أهله قال: بسم اهلل، اللهم جنبنا الشيطان وجنب الشيطان ما رزقتنا، فقضى بينهما ولد لم

يضره.متفق عليه، رياض الصالحني ، كتاب # 16، حديث # 1445

If anyone intends to have a relation with his wife, he should say : In the Name of Allah, O Allah! Keep

قل أعوذ برب الناسSay : I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind

ملك الناسThe Sovereign of mankind

إله الناسThe God of mankind

من شر الوسواس الخناسFrom the evil of the retreating whisperer

الذي يوسوس في صدور الناسWho whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind

من الجنة والناسFrom among the jinn and mankind

سورة الناس 114:1-6

us away from Satan and keep Satan away from what You have bestowed upon us); and if Allah has ordained a child for them, Satan will never harm him.

3.Ayat Al Kursi

اهلل ال إله إال هو الحي القيوم ال تأخذه سنة وال نوم

ماوات وما في األرض له ما في السمن ذا الذي يشفع عنده إال بإذنه

يعلم ما بني أيديهم وما خلفهم وال يحيطون بشيء من علمه إال بما شاء ماوات واألرض وال يئوده وسع كرسيه الس

حفظهما وهو العلي العظيمAllah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neitherdrowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on

the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His

knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

سورة البقرة 2:55

This great ayah is recited ↙🔻 before sleeping 🔻 in the morning and evening supplications🔻 after the obligatory prayer 🔻 as ruqyah

Abu Huraira رضي اهلل عنه said : Allah's Messenger صلى اهلل عليه و سلم put me in charge of the Zakat of Ramadan (i.e. Zakat-ul-Fitr). Someone came to me and started scooping some of the foodstuff of (Zakat) with both hands. I caught him and told him that I would take him to Allah's Messenger صلى اهلل عليه و سلم. Then Abu Huraira told the whole narration and added : He (i.e. the thief) said : Whenever you go to your bed, recite the Verse of "Al-Kursi (2.255) for then a guardian from Allah will be guarding you, and Satan will not approach you till dawn. On that the Prophet صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : He told you the truth, though he is a liar, and he (the thief) himself was the Satan.

لني رسول اهلل د بن سيرين، عن أبي هريرة ـ رضى اهلل عنه ـ قال وك وقال عثمان بن الهيثم حدثنا عوف، عن محم صلى اهلل عليه وسلم بحفظ زكاة رمضان، فأتاني آت، فجعل يحثو من الطعام، فأخذته فقلت ألرفعنك إلى رسول اهلل صلى اهلل عليه وسلم. فذكر الحديث فقال إذا أويت إلى فراشك فاقرأ آية الكرسي لن يزال عليك من اهلل حافظ، وال

يقربك شيطان حتى تصبح. فقال النبي صلى اهلل عليه وسلم " صدقك وهو كذوب، ذاك شيطان". صحيح البخاري ، حديث # 3275

4.The last two ayaat of Surah Al Baqarah

به آمن الرسول بما أنزل إليه من ر واملؤمنون كل آمن باهلل ومالئكته وكتبه ورسله ال نفرق بني أحد من

رسله وقالوا سمعنا وأطعنا غفرانك ربنا وإليك املصير ال يكلف اهلل نفسا

إال وسعها لها ما كسبت وعليها مااكتسبت ربنا ال تؤاخذنا إن نسينا أو أخطأنا ربنا وال تحمل علينا إصرا كما حملته على الذين من قبلنا ربنا

لنا ما ال طاقة لنا به وال تحمواعف عنا واغفر لنا وارحمنا أنت موالنا فانصرنا على القوم الكافرين

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We

make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."Allah does not charge a soul

except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we

have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us;

and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

2:285-286

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : من قرأ باآليتني من آخر سورة البقرة في ليلة كفتاه. متفق عليه ، رياض الصالحني، كتاب # 9 ، حديث # 1017

He who recites the two Ayat at the end of Surat Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.

5.Reciting Surah Al Baqarah

The Messenger of Allah صلى : said اهلل عليه و سلم

ال تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر، إن الشيطان ينفر من البيت الذي تقرأ

فيه سورة البقرة. صحيح مسلم ، رياض الصالحني ،

كتاب # 9، حديث # 1018 Do not turn your houses intograveyards. Satan runs away from the house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is recited.

Reciting this surah makes your house lively and happy, alive, not dark and dismal, because the shaitan will flee from it. In general, the whole Qura'an is a source of happiness, and specifically Surah Al Baqarah.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : اقرءوا القرآن فإنه يأتي يوم القيامة شفيعا ألصحابه اقرءوا الزهراوين البقرة وسورة آل عمران فإنهما تأتيان يوم

ان عن أصحابهما اقرءوا سورة القيامة كأنهما غمامتان أو كأنهما غيايتان أو كأنهما فرقان من طير صواف تحاج البقرة فإن أخذها بركة وتركها حسرة وال تستطيعها البطلة.

804 a# صحيح مسلم ، حديثRecite the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqara and Surah Al 'Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it.

You must read it, ponder upon its words, and apply it.

6.The remembrance of Allah

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و : said سلم من قال ال إله إال اهلل وحده ال شريك له، له امللك، وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير، في يوم مائة مرة كانت له عدل عشر رقاب

وكتبت له مائة حسنة، ومحيت عنه مائة سيئة، وكانت له حرزا من الشيطان يومه

ذلك حتى يمسي، ولم يأت أحد بأفضل مما جاء به إال رجل عمل أكثر منه.

وقال : من قال سبحان اهلل وبحمده، في يوم مائة مرة حطت عنه خطاياه وإن كانت مثل زبد البحر. متفق عليه ، رياض الصالحني ، كتاب # 16، حديث # 1410

He who utters a hundred times in a day : there is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him; His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent, he will have a reward equivalent to that for emancipating ten slaves, a hundred good deeds will be recorded to his credit, hundred of his sins will be blotted out from his scroll, and he will be safeguarded against the devil on that day till the evening; and no one will exceed him in doing more excellent good deeds except someone who has recited these words more often than him. And he who utters : Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise, one hundred times a day, hissins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean.

7.The dua prescribed to be read when you leave your home

The Messenger of Allah : said صلى اهلل عليه و سلم من قال - يعني إذا خرج من بيته-: بسم اهلل توكلت على اهلل، وال حول وال قوة إال باهلل ، يقال له: هديت وكفيت ووقيت،وتنحى عنه الشيطان وقال زاد أبو داود: فيقول : - يعني الشيطان - لشيطان آخر: كيف لك برجل قد هديوكفي ووقي ؟رواه أبي داود و الترمذي و النسائي ، رياض الصالحني، كتاب # 1 ، حديث # 83Whoever says (upon leaving his house): I begin with the Name of Allah; I trust in Allah; there is no altering of conditions but by the Power of Allah, it will be said to him : You are guided, defended and protected. The devil will go far away from him. Abu Dawud reported it with this addition : One devil will say to another: How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended and protected?

Don't make any dua unthinkingly or heedlessly; gather your heart, think of the reward, and say it for the pleasure of Allah and to draw close to Him. The shaitan will then leave your car while you are driving to the Markaz!

8.The dua to be read when you reach your destination

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said :من نزل منزال فليقل أعوذ بكلمات اهلل التامات من

شر ما خلق . فإنه لن يضره شىء حتى يرتحل.موطأ مالك ، كتاب # 54، حديث # 1800

Whoever dismounts to rest in a place should say, I seek refuge with the complete words of Allah from the evil of what he created; and nothing will harm him until heremounts.

This dua should specially be recited if the place you go to is deserted.

9.Suppressing the yawn

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said :

إذا تثاوب أحدكم ، فليمسك بيده على فيه . فإن الشيطان يدخل.

When any one of you yawns, close your mouth with your hand, because the shaitan will enter your body.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : إن اهلل يحب العطاس ويكره التثاؤب، فإذا عطس أحدكم وحمد اهلل كان حقا على كل مسلم سمعه أن يقول له يرحمك

يطان، فإذا تثاوب أحدكم فليرده ما استطاع، فإن أحدكم إذا تثاءب ضحك منه اهلل. وأما التثاؤب فإنما هو من الشيطان. الش

صحيح البخاري ، حديث # 6226 Allah loves sneezing but dislikes yawning; so if anyone of you sneezes and then praises Allah, every Muslim who hears him (praising Allah) has to say Tashmit to him. But as regards yawning, it is from Satan, so if one of you yawns, he should try his best to stop it, for when anyone of you yawns, Satan laughs at him.

10.The dua for entering the masjid

The shaitan waits outside the masjid, waiting to come in.

Whenever the Messenger of Allah صلى entered the masjid, he اهلل عليه و سلمsaid:

أعوذ باهلل العظيم وبوجهه الكريم وسلطانه القديم من الشيطان الرجيم.

I seek refuge in Allah, the Magnificent, and in His noble face, and in his eternal domain, from the accursed Devil. When he said this, the shaitan said : حفظ مني سائر اليوم - he is protected from me all the day long.

11. Avoid the shayateen

Another way of protection from the shaitan is to avoid the circumstances whereby you canencounter him.

🔻 إدخال الصبيان البيوت عند املغربBring the children inside at maghrib time

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : إذا كان جنح الليل - أو أمسيتم - فكفوا صبيانكم . فإن الشيطان ينتشر حينئذ . فإذا ذهب ساعة من

الليل فخلوهم . وأغلقوا األبواب . واذكروا اسم اهلل .روا آنيتكم . واذكروا اسم اهلل . ولو أن فإن الشيطان ال يفتح بابا مغلقا . وأوكوا قربكم . واذكروا اسم اهلل . وخم

تعرضوا عليها شيئا . وأطفؤا (مصابيحكم ) . وفي رواية : أنه سمع جابر بن عبداهلل يقول نحوا مما أخبر عطاء . إالأنه ال يقول : اذكروا اسم اهلل ، عز وجل

When the wings of the night spread, or evening comes, keep your small children inside, because the Devils spread at that time, and when that time passes, let them go, and close the doors while mentioning the name of Allah, because the shaitan does not open closed doors. And tie your water skins, and mention the name of Allah over them, and cover your vessels, and mention the name of Allah over them, even if you only keep something over them, and extinguish your lamps.

🔻 الوضوء و الصالة عند الغضب و الشهوةMake wudoo and pray at times of anger and desires

🔻 تجنب فضول الكالم و النظرAvoid from talking nonsense and suppress your curiosity

🔻 تجنب األماكن الخربة و النجسة الخالية من اإلنسAvoid demolished, deserted and dirty places, which are not inhabited by people

🔻 تطهير البيوت من الصور ، التماثيل، الكالب أو األجراسpurify your houses from pictures, statues, dogs or bells

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : ال تدخل املالئكة بيتا فيه تماثيل أو تصاوير.

صحيح مسلم ، حديث # 2112Angels do not enter the house in which there are portrayals or pictures.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم also said : ال تدخل املالئكة بيتا فيه كلب وال صورة.

2106 a # صحيح مسلم ، حديث Angels do not enter the house in which there are dogs pictures.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلم said : ال تصحب املالئكة ركبا معهم جلجل.

سنن النسائي ، حديث # 5219The angels do not accompany a caravan that has small bells with them.

To conclude,

The key to success is Ikhlas.

Faith, sincerity and reliance upon Allah are the foundation of your fortress, the force which will give strength and power to the weapons of protection from the shaitan.

لون إنه ليس له سلطان على الذين آمنوا وعلى ربهم يتوكIndeed, there is for him no authority over those who have believed and rely upon their Lord

سورة النحل 16:99

قال فبعزتك ألغوينهم أجمعني[Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all

إال عبادك منهم املخلصنيExcept, among them, Your sincere servants

سورة ص38:82-83
