Bar DK Dispersal

Welcome to the Bar DK Angus dispersal. Along with our cow-calf pairs, bred heifers and semen inventory we are proud to offer our 2013 long yearling bulls. Our focus and commitment has always been to produce sound, functional and profitable two year old bulls for the commercial cattleman. The only breeding females to leave the herd have been for export and a private sale package. Comtois International Export Inc from Notre Dame Quebec selected bred heifers and open heifer calves in 2007 and 2008. In 2010 Hand Hills Holdings of Delia, Alberta purchased a package of young cows and two year old bulls for their ranching operation. And in the fall of 2013, we sold open heifer calves to Friesvale Farms International of Woodstock, Ontario for export. Now this December of 2014 we offer our “factory” of young, fertile hard-working females and offspring for your appraisal.

We returned to the parklands of Saskatchewan in 1974 to raise a family and continue as third generation farmers. We were blessed with a son and three daughters who have contributed to our proud heritage of strong work habits, honesty and integrity. Our brand DK was registered in 1975. Our continuous process of adaptation, selection and providing quality customer service has created “a quality brand” which we stand behind and guarantee. Thank-you to all our customers for their friendship, loyalty and business for the past 37 years.

Our involvement with purebred Angus cattle began in 2001 with a purchase of bred heifers from Belmoral Angus. Our next foundation females came as choice heifer lots, the most notably Errolline 100L and Elba 107L from Crescent Creek Angus in 2002 and subsequent years after. Two influential bred cows were added in 2002 from the Lenlook Dispersal at Virden, Manitoba. Additional new genetics were added with females from Mountain View Farms, LLB Angus, Sissons Bros. Royal Angus and Whitesand Angus. Our first walking herd bulls of Lancer and Stockman ancestry were purchased from MVF in 2002 and 2003. Midland and Yellowstone genetics were introduced in 2004/2005 through two home grown sons of Lenlook Daisy Ann 27K. Along with our walking bulls we added new genetics through AI mainly Special Design, New Design, Mytty In Focus and Net Worth. In 2008, LLB Iceberg 523S out of the Exquisite Lady cow family was added to walk the pastures with Beverly Hills Fandango 404. These Iceberg daughters are broody and have made terrific cows. TJF Freedom 29U a son of Western Freedom 505 out of a cow tracing back to Crescent Creek Chief complementary our breeding program nicely in 2009. SAV Final Answer was now the main AI sire being used on our heifers. A very wet year in 2011 suspended our AI program and saw the introduction of three new sires. Soo Line Kodiak 067, JS Mountaineer 18 and S Chisum 0206, a bull we own in partnership with Crescent Creek Angus. Unfortunately we lost the service of Kodiak 067 and Upward 18 saw service for two years before a spinal injury sidelined him. Chisum 0206 has done a great job here and now resides at the Olynyks where he saw heavy service. Soo Line Best Interest 2142 came to us via the Soo Line dispersal as a calf in 2012. His first calf crop is solid and impressive. Best Interest bred close to fifty cows this summer and his service will be a feature. Lastly, this spring we AI bred a group of cows to Tour of Duty, Upshot, Density and Concensus and heifers to Final Answer.

teRMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder...no by-bidding will be permitted.

diSputeS: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final.

announceMentS: All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures.

bReedeR’S guaRantee: As this is a dispersal sale, all cattle sell with no further guarantee. Any known defects will be announced before the cattle are sold.

pRegnancy infoRMation: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, giving an estimated length of gestation. This estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service.

ceRtificate of RegiStRation: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

health: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements.

liabilitieS: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does T Bar C Cattle Co. Ltd. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken, must be between the buyer and the seller. Although December 20th leaves most men with only four shopping days before Christmas, this particular Saturday might well be one of the great shopping opportunities in the entire fall sale season. The Bar DK Angus dispersal will allow progressive cattlemen to add and enhance to their herds, young added- value genetics while saving valuable tax dollars before year end. Only in a dispersal, can one select from the top of a breeding herd which has been developed over years based on dominant cow families.

The Bar D K Angus herd is young...very young...of the one hundred and thirty females only eleven cows are over the age of five years...with a bulk of the bred females only twos and threes. The genetic base is solid, as Donn has used current new genetics on proven productive cow lines which are maternally strong without giving up the factor of performance. This herd is young, sound, highly fertile, moderate in frame size and has great balanced numbers.

Although the Kraynicks do not show in competitive competition, BAR D K has produced a lot of bulls for the commercial sector. Many of these commercial producers are repeat customers simply because...Bar DK bulls work! In this dispersal, the regular crop of yearling bulls are selling in addition to the entire 2014 bull calf crop. Donn is offering half down payment with the balance next spring...complete with a wintering program...ideal... select your bull, have him wintered and pick him up next spring ready for pasture. It saves pen space, tax dollars and here... you get to select from two calf crops of bulls...a win-win situation.

The livestock industry is finally getting some justice in the agricultural market place and ...it’s going to get a lot more. The North American landscape is still not rebuilding cow herds and since gestation still takes nine months, restocking will take a long time. Records are made to be broken and the records set this fall will be broken...it’s time to turn in our fertilizer caps for hats. Livestock have become huge assets for their owners and these owners are finally getting paid for their efforts...but remember to make money in the cattle industry...you have to own them! The Angus cow is the best mother cow in the industry and as we restock...she will be the most valuable tool for the builder.

Welcome to the Bar DK Angus dispersal. Along with our cow-calf pairs, bred heifers and semen inventory we are proud to offer our 2013 long yearling bulls. Our focus and commitment has always been to produce sound, functional and profitable two year old bulls for the commercial cattleman. The only breeding females to leave the herd have been for export and a private sale package. Comtois International Export Inc from Notre Dame Quebec selected bred heifers and open heifer calves in 2007 and 2008. In 2010 Hand Hills Holdings of Delia, Alberta purchased a package of young cows and two year old bulls for their ranching operation. And in the fall of 2013, we sold open heifer calves to Friesvale Farms International of Woodstock, Ontario for export. Now this December of 2014 we offer our “factory” of young, fertile hard-working females and offspring for your appraisal.

We returned to the parklands of Saskatchewan in 1974 to raise a family and continue as third generation farmers. We were blessed with a son and three daughters who have contributed to our proud heritage of strong work habits, honesty and integrity. Our brand DK was registered in 1975. Our continuous process of adaptation, selection and providing quality customer service has created “a quality brand” which we stand behind and guarantee. Thank-you to all our customers for their friendship, loyalty and business for the past 37 years.

Our involvement with purebred Angus cattle began in 2001 with a purchase of bred heifers from Belmoral Angus. Our next foundation females came as choice heifer lots, the most notably Errolline 100L and Elba 107L from Crescent Creek Angus in 2002 and subsequent years after. Two influential bred cows were added in 2002 from the Lenlook Dispersal at Virden, Manitoba. Additional new genetics were added with females from Mountain View Farms, LLB Angus, Sissons Bros. Royal Angus and Whitesand Angus. Our first walking herd bulls of Lancer and Stockman ancestry were purchased from MVF in 2002 and 2003. Midland and Yellowstone genetics were introduced in 2004/2005 through two home grown sons of Lenlook Daisy Ann 27K. Along with our walking bulls we added new genetics through AI mainly Special Design, New Design, Mytty In Focus and Net Worth. In 2008, LLB Iceberg 523S out of the Exquisite Lady cow family was added to walk the pastures with Beverly Hills Fandango 404. These Iceberg daughters are broody and have made terrific cows. TJF Freedom 29U a son of Western Freedom 505 out of a cow tracing back to Crescent Creek Chief complementary our breeding program nicely in 2009. SAV Final Answer was now the main AI sire being used on our heifers. A very wet year in 2011 suspended our AI program and saw the introduction of three new sires. Soo Line Kodiak 067, JS Mountaineer 18 and S Chisum 0206, a bull we own in partnership with Crescent Creek Angus. Unfortunately we lost the service of Kodiak 067 and Upward 18 saw service for two years before a spinal injury sidelined him. Chisum 0206 has done a great job here and now resides at the Olynyks where he saw heavy service. Soo Line Best Interest 2142 came to us via the Soo Line dispersal as a calf in 2012.
