Barangay San Agustin II

Brief History“Kasuyan” was the first name

given to this place. Many Cashew trees were planted here in the past. After sometime, this place is called “Luksuhin” and on July 18, 1889, the name is changed to Barrio San Agustin through a petition introduced by Don Juan Bautista. It is because the residents of the place used to have a procession in which they always carry the image of Saint Augustine.

Barangay San Agustin is located between the town of Poblacion in the south and Barangay Sampalok in the north. Agriculture is the main source of means of its residents in the past. Palay, sugar cane, fruits and vegetables are planted on its agricultural lands. San Agustin was blessed having a continuous water supply coming from Bucal. The water from the river and stream came from the upper part of the town. The said water supply routes in a concrete duct that were connected to Pasong Bayo.

In the present time, San Agustin is divided into three regions at the order in 1990 by the Resolution No. 359-5-90. It is when the barangay population exceeded more than one thousand of the maximum number of population in a Barangay.

Barangay San Agustin 2 was one of the three regions that were divided.
