DEAR REBA DEAR REBA: I am a woman of mature age that is recently single and ready to mingle. How should I dress to impress at

the Great Kern County Fair?

Sincerely,

Single Lady

DEAR SINGLE LADY:

The Great Kern County Fair is an excellent place to catch a cowboy. To attract yourself to a nice looking fellow, put on some well-fitting blue jeans, a nice plaid shirt, some rhinestone-studded cowgirl boots, a blue suede cowgirl hat and a few splashes of Lady Stetson. Don’t forget to feather those bangs and secure them with Aqua Net in the event of strong winds or the occasional taking off of the hat. Make sure to situate yourself by the Beer Gardens to maximize your exposure. Follow my advice and you’ll be ready to Giddy on Up over to the

fair and lasso yourself a man!

Spotlight ON SAFETY!

Easy Fall DIY Craft Idea

How to make a Pear

out of a Light bulb!

What you will need:

Light bulb, Scissors, Twine, A

stick from outside and a

hot glue gun.

How to do it: Clip about 1.5 inches from your stick for the pear

stem. and hot glue onto the tip of the light bulb. While the glue

from the stem is still hot, adhere the tip of your spool of twine

to the bulb. Now you want to wrap the twine around and

around the bulb gluing a dab onto the bulb every so often to se-

cure the twine in place as you go. Wrap all the way till you get

to the bottom of the bulb and glue the last bit of twine in place

then clip your excess twine and ta-da! Super easy fall craft .

Think about filling up a jar or vase with these handmade pears!

Next time try wrapping various size gourds!

The flu spreads easily, in offices, schools and

grocery stores (to name a few places). Make

sure you protect yourself and those around

you. It starts with knowing the facts—and get-

ting the flu shot.

The flu shot is your best protection.

The flu shot does not give you the flu. The

flu vaccine is safe and cannot give you the flu.

After you’re vaccinated, it can take two weeks

or longer for your body to be fully protected. If

you have flu-like symptoms after the flu shot, it

probably means you were infected before the

vaccine had a chance to take effect.

Everyone is at risk of getting the flu. Any-

one can get the flu, even very healthy people.

While people over 65 are most at risk for com-

plications from the flu, healthy children and

adults can also end up in the hospital.

The flu shot is covered at no charge. If

you’re a Kaiser Permanente member, you can

the flu vaccine at no cost. Take ownership and clean up spills...

you never know who will turn the corner and slip!

Make Safety your First Priority today

and everyday!
