The settlement data reported in this issue of Bargaining Update is based on the collective agreement settlement information received by Mediation Services in March 2019. In March 2019, Mediation Services received settlement information regarding 30 bargaining relationships encompassing 11,028 employees. There were 14 private sector and 16 public sector settlements, covering 766 and 10,262 employees respectively. Highlights Edmonton School District No. 7 Edmonton School District No. 7 and CUPE Local 3550, representing approximately 3,000 support staff ratified a 36-month collective agreement. The agreement will expire in August 2020. Northern Alberta Institute of Technology [NAIT] On March 6, 2019, NAIT and AUPE representing approximately 1,100 non-academic staff reached a 36-month collective agreement which will expire in June 2020. City of Lethbridge The collective agreement between the City of Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Police Association expired in December 2017. The City of Lethbridge has requested the appointment of an Interest Arbitration Board to settle the remaining items in dispute. Agreements Ratified To date, 121 agreements were ratified between October 2018 and March 2019. 84 settlements affecting 63,158 employees were negotiated. 36 settlements affecting 41,877 employees were settled through the mediation process. And one settlement affecting 449 employees was settled through voluntary arbitration. Ratified agreements included: City of Calgary Inside Workers and CUPE Local 38 Capital Power and Unifor Local 829 Elk Island Catholic Separate Regional Division No. 41 and Unifor Local 71

Bargaining Update is a monthly report that provides information about the unionized workforce, primarily in Alberta.

The settlement data reported in this issue of Bargaining Update is based on the collective agreement settlement information received by Mediation Services in March 2019. In March 2019, Mediation Services received settlement information regarding 30 bargaining relationships encompassing 11,028 employees. There were 14 private sector and 16 public sector settlements, covering 766 and 10,262 employees respectively.

Highlights

Edmonton School District No. 7 Edmonton School District No. 7 and CUPE Local 3550, representing approximately 3,000 support staff ratified a 36-month collective agreement. The agreement will expire in August 2020.

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology [NAIT] On March 6, 2019, NAIT and AUPE representing approximately 1,100 non-academic staff reached a 36-month collective agreement which will expire in June 2020.

City of Lethbridge The collective agreement between the City of Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Police Association expired in December 2017. The City of Lethbridge has requested the appointment of an Interest Arbitration Board to settle the remaining items in dispute.

Agreements Ratified To date, 121 agreements were ratified between October 2018 and March 2019. 84 settlements affecting 63,158 employees were negotiated. 36 settlements affecting 41,877 employees were settled

through the mediation process. And one settlement affecting 449 employees was settled through voluntary arbitration. Ratified agreements included:
