Today is World Ocean Day. To celebrate the great creatures in our Oceans .. try to add to this stunning starter.

The majestic creature glided gracefully through the perfect, azure waters. Its size and beautiful colours stood out in stark contrast to the murky, grey ocean floor beneath.

Many other creatures that dwelt under the sea looked on with envy at the unusual and startlingly bright colours that its appearance possessed.

Continue this piece of writing by describing the ‘majestic creature’ pictured above. Can you make a list of nouns that you can see in the picture? E.g. Eyes, fins, ocean.

Can you make a list adjectives to describe each of your nouns?

Can you now write a paragraph describing the fish in great detail?

Top tip: Try to think of synonyms for ‘blue’. A Google search or thesaurus might help!

Monday 8 th June - Maths

Reminder – all angles in a triangle add to 180, in other shapes to 360.

Create another ocean-dwelling creature that may adapt to be in the sky (could it be a sky Octopus or an air-Orca?). Make notes about it – think about how you will describe it: how it moves, its habits and threats to it. Plan today so that you can write tomorrow.Wednesday 10th June Maths

Measure and read angles with a protractor with this game https://www.topmarks.co.uk/Flash.aspx?a=activity16

Friday 12 th June - Maths Draw a map from your bedroom to the kitchen. Think about the corners that your turn and measure the angles. calculate the total degrees of turn involved on the journey.

Repeat this activity for other areas in your home or you might even map out a route you take on daily walk/cycle – measure the angles and add to generate a total travelled.

Choose a letter of the alphabet and decorate it. Now look up words in Spanish which begin with that letter. Can you fill the letter with lots of words and doodles beginning with the letter? Eg – I might choose a letter M and then I’d be able to write melocoton and draw lots of peaches!

I look forward to seeing your decorated letters. If you follow the link you can upload to their website.

SPORT

MINI TENNIS BALL by Kane

Equipment Included:-

One net, two mini tennis balls.

How to play:-

You have to kick the tennis ball over the net and the other person has to try and kick it back without it touching the ground. The aim of the game is to kick the ball over the net and it can’t touch the ground. It is simple how to win you just need to hit it over the net and try and make it touch the ground but you can’t aim it straight at the floor or you’ll be disqualified. First person to get the ball on the ground five times wins the game.

by Ruby GAlso – ask Joe about his new skill in football – it’s called nuckleball!
