TUMBLE-BASKET BLAST CABINET BARREL FINISHING SYSTEMS Guyson Corp. The Abbott Ball Co. www.guyson.com www.abbottball.com Guyson Corp. offers a tumble-basket blast machine with a small footprint for use in finishing work cells or tight shop layouts. The Model T-40 cabinet, taking up just over one square meter of space, has a full-width hinged front door for con- venient access to the blast chamber and a 22-in. diameter by lo-in. deep rotary basket. One or two suction-blast nozzles are positioned on multi- adjustable brackets. Its tilted basket design virtu- ally eliminates part-on-part impingement and component damage. Abbott Ball offers both open and closed barrel sys- tems. The open-face barrel provides variable cas- cading, which is adjusted by tilting the barrel. Abbott’s closed barrel permits the full rotation of the barrel. Both designs are available in either free- standing or tabletop configuration; stainless or car- bon steel and various plastics, including PVC and polypropylene; in a range of sizes; and either lined or unlined. Barrel machines are made to customer’s specifications to ensure the right system for the task. They are excellent for finishing con- ventional materials, such as brass, copper, steel, and alu- minum, as well as alloys such as Kovar, Inconel, stain- less steel, titanium, etc. Centrifugal disk technology enables deburring into grooves and corners that conven- tional vibratory or tumble deburring is unable to reach. Cycle times are dramatically reduced up to l/10 normal deburring cycles. The process chambers are available for wet or dry processing and are of modular design accord- ing to customer requirements.
