    BARTS employ a fully qualified and experienced team of trainers to deliver all of their programmes. If youdo not find the required training programme listed, BARTS can create and design a bespoke programmespecifically for you. For more details, please contact BARTS.

    BAR Training Services (BARTS) set the standards in industry specific training to BAR Members andthe removals industry as a whole. BARTS training courses and workshops are available on site at your

    premises, delivered by BARTS Field Trainer. BARTS Trainers also provide training in your area or welcomeyou to obtain qualifications and acquire skills at BAR Head Office in Watford.

    To save you the travel and accommodation costs that would be incurred when sending personnel awayfrom the workplace, all of BARTS training courses are available on your premises at your convenience.Each course can be fully tailored to suit your individual company requirements. BARTS services includecareer development, management training and a full range of progressive skills based training. BARTScommitment to improving the skills of the industry includes the production of a nationally recognisedapprenticeship scheme developed specifically for the removal industry.

    Description:The Driver CPC rules affect everyone who drives vehicles over 3.5 Tonnes vocationally.Between September 2009 and September 2014 all Drivers will be required to attend 35 hours ofPeriodic Training in order to gain their Driver CPC Qualification Card. After September 2014 thosewithout a Driver CPC Qualification Card will be unable to drive LGVs vocationally.

    Course Content: The following Driver CPC training modules are available through BARTS:Prevention of physical risks, emergency situations, packing, safe & efficient driving, companyimage & customer care, manual handling, vehicle loading, risk assessment.

    Driver CPC / Mandatory Training

    Description: All workers have a right to work in places where risks to their health and safety areproperly controlled. Under the Fire Safety Law all employers must implement and maintain a firemanagement plan all staff must be suitably trained in fire prevention and the course of action in theevent of a fire. This course shows students how to reduce the risk of fire and also the action to takewhen discovering fire.

    Course Content: Fire risks, current legislation, the chemistry of fire, identifying causes of fire, fireprevention, fire fighting equipment, evacuation procedures

    Fire Safety / Mandatory Training

    Description: Fire safety training for employees is a legal requirement under fire legislation. BARTraining Services run courses for Fire Wardens and Marshals on fire prevention, fire safety and formanagers who are responsible for determining fire safety procedures.

    Description: Managing health and safety is little different from managing any other aspect of yourbusiness. You need to do a risk assessment to find out about the risks in your workplace, put sensiblepolicies in place to control them and make sure they stay controlled. BAR Training Services can doall this for you!

    Description: It is a criteria of BAR membership that members must be able to demonstrate thatall staff employed, hired or engaged are suitably trained and qualified. An induction programmeincluding a full health and safety procedure must be in place for all staff, and written records mustbe kept of the training undergone by each employee, including health and safety related training.This course gives students a brief history of the industry and covers all the necessary legislationassociated with induction training.

    Course Content: A background of the industry, a background of the company, current legislation,customer relations, health & safety, fire safety, manual handling, furniture handling skills

    Induction / Mandatory Training

    Description: All workers have a right to work in places where risks to their health and safety areproperly controlled. The Health & Safety Executive is responsible for enforcing the Health & Safetyat Work etc Act 1974 which states that all staff are suitably trained in the prevention of physical riskboth to themselves and to others. This course demonstrates the methods of identifying and reducingrisks in the workplace.

    Description: Health and Safety at Work Regulations require employers to provide their employeeswith health and safety information and training. This should include as necessary information andtraining on manual handling injury risks and prevention. On this course students will learn the typesof injury that are caused through poor manual handling and the correct methods that should be usedwhen lifting and moving items.

    Course Content: Importance of correct manual handling, kinetics of the spine, types of injury,safe lifting procedures, single lifts, team lifts, lifting aids, safe use of equipment

    Description: Export wrapping is used to protect furniture in transit and gives items extra protection.Export wrapping is a skill that requires the correct use and selection of packing/wrapping materials.This course demonstrates the methods and techniques used in export wrapping and identifies thecorrect materials that should be used.
