Wiking ® Super B Rebar BASALT REBARS Made of 100% crushed Basalt, a type of volcanic rock The rock is melted at 1600°C, spun, and then extruded The Basalt rebars are sanded and profiled for better adhesion in concrete, reaching a 16MPa bond stress Naturally resistant to external influences Produced in a variety of diameters to meet customer requirements ADVANTAGES Resistant to extreme temperatures Four times the strength of steel at a quarter of the weight Non-corrosive Does not need to be removed before recycling or disposal since it is completely natural Reduce concrete cost: the Basalt rebar has a thermal expansion coefficient similar to concrete which means the thickness of the concrete can be reduced Light weight: 10 times less mass per longitudinal meter of rebar allows for a reduction in the use of vehicles and cranes TECHNICAL PARAMETERS Strength 1730 MPa Density 2.2 g/cm 3 Modulus of Elasticity 62 GPa Strain 2.2% Fiber Content 65-70% COMPOUND PROPERTIES Melt Temperature 1450°C Density 2.6 - 2.8 g/cm 3 Modulus of Elasticity 91 - 110 GPa Moisture Absorption < 0.1% Thermal Conductivity 2 W/mK Elongation Factor 6 x 10 -7 /K BASALT PROPERTIES Diameter Strength Weight 4 mm 1460 MPa 30 g/m 6 mm 1400 MPa 60 g/m 8 mm 1300 MPa 110 g/m 10 mm 1200 MPa 170 g/m 12 mm 970 MPa 240 g/m PRODUCT AVAILABILITY MultiSolv Inc. 1040 Martingrove Rd. BASALT REBARS• Made of 100% crushed Basalt, a type of volcanic rock

• The rock is melted at 1600°C, spun, and then extruded

• The Basalt rebars are sanded and profiled for better adhesion in concrete, reaching a 16MPa bond stress

• Naturally resistant to external influences

• Produced in a variety of diameters to meet customer requirements

ADVANTAGES

• Resistant to extreme temperatures

• Four times the strength of steel at a quarter of the weight

• Non-corrosive

• Does not need to be removed before recycling or disposal since it is completely natural

• Reduce concrete cost: the Basalt rebar has a thermal expansion coefficient similar to concrete which means the thickness of the concrete can be reduced

• Light weight: 10 times less mass per longitudinal meter of rebar allows for a reduction in the use of vehicles and cranes
