Holiday Flower Sale – Governor Wolf Governor Wolf has partnered with Lehigh Valley Home and Garden Center to bring the spirit of the holidays to you! The PTA is selling Poinsettia's, Live Wreaths and Cemetery Logs. This fundraiser will run until November 14th. The prices are as follows: Poinsettia's (7.5" pot - 2 plants/pot): Red or Marble $13.50 each Live Wreaths (choice of bow color: Red, Burgundy or Plaid) $22.00 each Cemetery Logs (Live greens, red bow, white sticks and red ruscus) $15.00 each. Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley Turkey Drive The Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley will be holding a Turkey Drive. Donate a turkey to help feed a family in need over the holidays! Donated turkeys can be dropped off at the Hispanic Center LV offices located at 520 East Fourth Street, Bethlehem. Offices open Monday-Friday from 9 am-4 pm throughout the holiday season. Questions can be directed to Ms. Strockyj at [email protected]. BASD Child Care Collection Drive The BASD Child Care Program will be collecting new mittens, socks, coloring books, and crayons for the Pediatric Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Please assist by sending items to a BASD Child Care location. There will be a collection area in each child care center to welcome your donations! The Child Care Program collection drive will run through December 8 th , 2014. Donations will be collected from all of the district’s Elementary School Child Care locations and be delivered to the children! Contact the Child Care Office at 610-868-8501 if you have questions.

Fountain Hill is Celebrating #Socktober Fountain Hill Elementary is now participating in # Socktober . We are starting a sock drive as a way to give back to the community that has always given so much to us. Could you believe that an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets? That is not OK! Kid President inspired us by reminding us that even the smallest act of love can make a big difference. For the next month, we will be collecting NEW socks and donating them to The Bethlehem Emergency Homeless Shelter. If you would like to donate socks, please send them to Fountain Hill Elementary School. If at this time you cannot donate socks, please help by sharing this message and getting the word out to all communities! Remember to #Socktober to really get the word out! Thursday-Sunday, November 6-9, 2014 – FHS Theatre Presents Curtains This multi-Toni Award winning musical comedy is a parody of the 1950s “whodunit” theater mysteries, where a lone Boston police detective investigates a series of murders that have taken place behind the scenes of a fictional 1950s cowboy musical, “Robbin Hood.” The cast and crew are forced to stay inside the theater while the detective unravels the mystery, getting involved with the show and falling in love with the ingénue in the process. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 – Hanover Celebrates Veterans Day Hanover Elementary School will be honoring local veterans at its annual Veteran's Day Celebration on November 11, 2014. The festivities will begin at 9:30 A.M. Representative Marcia Hahn will be attending the celebration honoring the veterans, as well as Liberty High School Brass Ensemble and Liberty High School Bagpipers. Hanover Singers will also lead the school in song in order to celebrate our local heros. Please join us as we honor those who keep our country safe and make us proud to be Americans! Thursday-Saturday, November 20-22, 2014 – LHS Theater Presents Under Milk Wood (A Play for Voices) Meet the villagers of Llareggub (pronounced la-RAY-gubb) the most eccentric small town on earth. Dylan Thomas wrote Under Milk Wood for radio over 50 years ago featuring the voices of Richard Burton and Elisabeth Taylor. It was hailed as one of the most dazzling and poetic feats of wordplay since Shakespeare. Now, Liberty High School brings this rarely seen masterpiece of zany and sparkling spoken word to vibrant and colorful life with a sixty person cast. Under Milk Wood performs on November 20, 21 and 22 at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door or call 610-865-0615 to reserve in advance.
Friday, January 23, 2015 – FHS Basket and Handbag Bingo Freedom High School Band and Orchestra will hold a basket and handbag bingo on Friday, January 23, 2015. (Snow date is January 30) Event will be held in the FHS cafeteria. Doors open at 6 pm. Games start at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $20 for 20 games in advance and $25 at the door.
