And Logical Operations At Very High Speed. The Analog

Computer Has No Memory And Is Slower Than The

Digital Computer But Has A Continuous Rather Than A

Discrete Input. The Hybrid Computer Combines Some Of

The Advantages Of Digital And Analog Computers.


The computer was born not for entertainment or email but out of a need to solve a serious number-crunching crisis. By 1880, the U.S. population had grown so large that it took more than seven years to tabulate the U.S. Census results.

The first substantial computer was the giant ENIAC machine by John W. Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert at the University of Pennsylvania.

In the 20th century breakthroughs in technology allowed for the ever-evolving computing machines we see today. But even prior to the advent of microprocessors and supercomputers, there were certain notable scientists and inventors that helped lay the groundwork for a technology that has since drastically reshaped our lives.


Computer software is a general term that

describes computer programs. Related terms

such as software programs, applications, scripts,

and instruction sets all fall under the category of

computer software. Therefore,

installing new programs or

applications on your computer

is synonymous with installing

new software on your computer.


The Two Main Types Of Computer Software

Are:-

1. The System Software2. The Application Software.

The System Software Provides The Platform For Users To

Install And Run Application Software, And It's Made Up

Of Multiple Programs Needed To Run A Computer

System Smoothly. & Application software is a program

or group of programs designed for end users.


In information technology, hardware is

the physical aspect of computers,

telecommunications, and other devices.

The term arose as a way to distinguish

the "box" and the electronic circuitry and

components of a computer from the

program you put in it to make it

do things.


Windows classifies devices by hardware type. Hardware

types include such things as:-

video adapter cards

Keyboards

CD-ROM drives

Ports

Printers

When you use Device Manager or the Add Hardware

Wizard, you will see a list of the hardware types that

are installed on your computer.



Microsoft Office is an integrated suite of

business software applications for Windows and

Macintosh computers. Office includes word

processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics

and email communication programs

that provide functionality

which is commonly

used to run a business office.



Microsoft Word. A full-featured word processing

program for Windows and Mac from Microsoft.

Available stand-alone or as part of the

Microsoft Office suite, Word contains

rudimentary desktop publishing

capabilities and is the most widely used

word processing program on the market.


Microsoft Excel is a software program

produced by Microsoft Corp. that allow users

to organize, format and calculate data with

formulas using a spreadsheet system. This

software as part of the Microsoft office suite

and is compatible with other applications in

the office suite.


Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful

presentation software developed by Microsoft.

It is a standard component of the company's

Microsoft Office suite software, and is bundled

together with Word, Excel and other office

productivity tools.
