To set the stage for integrating technology into your curriculum.

What will we cover today?

Introductory computer use. Email navigation (yes, navigation, its like

being on a ship) Email folders to organize your work email Introduction to www.just4kids.org

What are our norms?

The Start menu This is your gateway to all the programs on your

computer. Lets try it, click this on your desktop:

To reach all your programs, move your mouse over the “All Programs” button.

If you use a particular program a lot, it will show up here, all you have to do is click it!

This is called a Recent Program List

You can launch applications quickly by using the QUICK LAUNCH toolbar.

Remember, you can have many programs open at the same time. Your computer CAN handle it!

You can create folders by senders name, committee, grade-level, or any other way you would like.

Notice that Jeanne, Amy, Committees, and Target Excellence all have their own folder. As soon as I read an email, I file it away in the folder so I can find it later.

Lets practice making a folder in YOUR email!

This makes a new folder that you can name and use to store emails.

used. Lets type a name for the folder.

email from your inbox to the new folder.

opened yet. Move mouse over to the email, like this… Left-click the mouse and hold the button

down.
