Complete dentures replace your missing teeth and your smile. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You’ll be able to eat and speak—things that people often take for granted with their natural teeth. There are various types of denture. A full denture is made and placed in the patient’s mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed which may take several months. An immediate can be placed as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. Even if you wear full dentures, you still must take good care of your mouth. Brush your gums, tongue and palate every morning with a soft-bristled brush before you insert your dentures to stimulate circulation in your tissues and help remove plaque. Furthermore, dentures should be relined every 3-5 years because the bone will resorb (change shape and reduce) which will lead to a smaller gap between nose and chin and increased reliance on muscle rather than bone to support the denture - which actually speeds up resorption. There are many options around how to restore your teeth and your dentist will be the best placed to advise over which is most suitable. Standard Acrylic Dentures Valplast / Chrome Dentures Ideal for: Patients with no teeth or who plan to have all teeth removed. Benefits: With all teeth removed the mouth is a more stable place for a denture which means greater comfort over time. A regular denture rests on the gums, and is held in place by suction. These dentures are trimmed to be a comfortable fit and are easily removed for cleaning. Ideal for: Patients who still have and intend to keep some of their natural teeth Benefits: Combines the thinness of Chrome in areas which are not visible with the aesthetics of gum coloured Valplast to achieve the best of both worlds in terms of fit and appearance. Everyone always wants the best of both worlds. Chrome dentures are thinner and consequently more comfortable and less noticeable in the mouth but are made of chrome – which does not blend well with teeth or gums. Valplast on the other hand is visually un-noticeable in the mouth but is slightly thicker than chrome, which means it is more noticeable in your mouth in terms of fit and feel. Combining these two materials allows us to give you the best of both worlds by using the chrome in areas which are not visible but where a comfortable fit is most important and the Valplast in areas which are visible and do not demand thin materals to deliver comfort. We specialise not only in making the denture teeth, but also forming the Chrome and Valplast framework.

DenturesDentures are an excellent choice for tooth restoration if you decide to have your natural teeth removed as you come to a time when you can be better served by brand new teeth than your natural teeth.

Standard Acrylic Dentures Valplast / Chrome DenturesIdeal for: Patients with no teeth or who plan to have all teeth removed.

Benefits: With all teeth removed the mouth is a more stable place for a denture which means greater comfort over time.

A regular denture rests on the gums, and is held in place by suction. These dentures are trimmed to be a comfortable fit and are easily removed for cleaning.

Ideal for: Patients who still have and intend to keep some of their natural teeth

Benefits: Combines the thinness of Chrome in areas which are not visible with the aesthetics of gum coloured Valplast to achieve the best of both worlds in terms of fit and appearance.

Valplast Flexible Partial Dentures Immediate Dentures (Sometimes called Temporary Dentures)

Ideal for: Patients who still have and intend to keep some of their natural teeth.

Benefits: Valplast flexible partial dentures cost less than dental implants and dental bridges and they require no surgery or invasive procedures. Compared to traditional metal partial dentures, Valplast® offers better aesthetics, comfort and durability. Made from an unbreakable nylon resin each Valplast® restoration comes with a lifetime guarantee against breakage and fracture on the resin base.

When considering a removable partial, many people find the Valplast® Flexible Partial Dentures to be the most comfortable option, and the final restoration can be made very quickly. While the cost may be higher than a partial made with visible metal clasps, the results of the flexible partial are excellent, and patient satisfaction is very high. The Valplast® Flexible Partial involves only non-invasive procedures, and gives you confidence in your restoration while talking, eating and most importantly, smiling!

A great number of patients request vaplast flexible partial dentures from us for a variety of reasons such as the following:

It is comfortable to wear. The procedure involved is non-invasive.Cost effective.Virtually appealing as it is almost invisible.Guaranteed to lasts for a lifetime.Partial dentures may feel awkward in the beginning, but this is just normal. With our help, you will become more comfortable in wearing the denture. We do not only make dentures, but we also give you the right instructions on how to wear and take care of them.

We also perform adjustments when necessary to make sure that the denture will not cause pressure or soreness in your mouth. Adjustments are required over time, especially as your mouth goes through changes. For instance, gum ridges and bones can shrink leading to loose-fitting denture.

Ideal for: Patients that are concerned about going without their smile after tooth extraction during the period when the gum bone resorbs and changes shape before a permanent denture can be fitted.

Benefits: Fills the period between tooth extraction and permanent denture placement with a smile!

This is a temporary smile which allows your gums to heal after tooth extraction. Once your gums are healed we can get a good impression of your gums in their new shape and produce a comfortable fitting denture of your choice. These dentures can be retained as a spare set in case you damage your permanent dentures – You won’t need temporaries whilst we perform relines or most repairs because with a dental laboratory on-site, this can be done while you wait!

Ideal for: Patients with no teeth or who intend to have all teeth removed and where a semi-fixed denture is more suitable or preferable.

Benefits: As a semi-fixed denture this solution is more stable and feels much more natural in the mouth.

Implant retained dentures are supported by and attached to implants. An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that locate onto attachments on the implants.

How Does It Work? There are two types of implant-supported dentures: bar-retained and ball-retained. In both cases, the denture will be made of an acrylic base that will look like gums. Porcelain or acrylic teeth that look like natural teeth are attached to the base. Both types of dentures need at least two implants for support.

Ideal for: Patients that have no teeth or intend to have all teeth removed to whom life like aesthetics are important.

Benefits: The most accurate and life like match for natural teeth.

Cosmetic dentures are built by hand using premium materials and curing techniques to deliver the most accurate and lifelike restoration of and even improvement of your natural smile. Using staining and glazing techniques that allow for layers of colour to be built up in the tooth and gum coloured materials the finish is natural and lifelike when compared to the more solid colouration of other denture solutions.
