On Saturday, July 24th, at 10 a.m. in

the upper church, Deacon Song

You, C.Ss.R., will be ordained to

the priesthood by Bishop Bruce

Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., Auxiliary

Bishop of Baltimore. He will celebrate an English Mass of

Thanksgiving on Sunday, July 25th, at 10 a.m. in the lower

church, and a Mass of Thanksgiving in Mandarin on

Sunday, August 1st, at 11:45 a.m. in the lower church.

Deacon Song found his inspiration in St. Alphonsus Liguori

who, “moved by compassion for the poor, especially those

living in the country districts,” founded the Redemptorists

to “preach the Gospel to the poor.” Deacon Song wrote: “I

am inspired by these words and offer my life to the works of

mercy which they represent.” We pray for Deacon Song as

he prepares for his ordination: May our Lady of Perpetual

Help bless him as a Redemptorist missionary priest!

Faith Formation Program: Registration for Grades 1-11. The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for

the month of July will be open on Saturdays,

July 10th and 17th. Doors open at 10 AM

and only one adult per household will enter

the cafeteria. Distribution of food will now

be focused on registered members of our

food pantry. Please bring your membership

card with you. Remember, only one adult per household is

to receive food once a month. Any questions concerning the

TWO SIGNIFICANT FEASTS THIS COMING WEEK:

On Wednesday, July 14, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the Lily

of the Mohawks. She is the first native American to be can-

onized on October 21, 2012, by Pope Benedict XVI. She

died in 1680 at Caughnawaga, Quebec, at 24 years of age.

On Friday, July 16, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Hermits

lived on Mount Carmel near the Fountain of Elijah in northern

Israel in the 12th century. They had a chapel dedicated to Our

Lady. By the 13th century they became known as “Brothers of

Our Lady of Mount Carmel.” They soon celebrated a special

Mass and Office in honor of Mary. In 1726, it became a cele-

bration of the universal Church under the title of Our Lady of

Celebrará una Misa de Acción de Gracias en inglés el

agosto, a las 11:45 a.m. en la iglesia de abajo. El Diácono

Song encontró su inspiración en San Alfonso Liguorio quien

“compadecido de los pobres, sobre todo de los campesinos,”

fundó la Congregación Redentorista para “predicar el

Evangelio a los pobres.” El Diácono Song escribió: “Me

inspiran estas palabras y ofrezco mi vida a las obras de

misericordia que ellas señalan.” Oramos por el Diácono Song

mientras se prepara para su ordinación: ¡Que María, Nuestra

Madre del Perpetuo Socorro, lo bendiga como sacerdote

DOS FIESTAS SIGNIFICATIVAS CELEBRADAS ESTA SEMANA:

Thánh Lễ Truyền Chức Linh Mục tại Gx. MHCG. Vào thứ

Bảy, ngày 24 tháng 7, lúc 10 giờ sáng tại nhà thờ trên, Phó tế

Song You, C.Ss.R., sẽ được Giám mục Bruce Lewandowski,

C.Ss.R., Giám mục Phụ tá của Baltimore, truyền chức linh

mục. Tân linh mục sẽ cử hành Thánh lễ Tạ ơn bằng tiếng Anh

vào Chủ nhật, ngày 25 tháng 7, lúc 10 giờ sáng tại nhà thờ

dưới, và Thánh lễ tạ ơn bằng tiếng Quan thoại vào Chủ nhật,

ngày 1 tháng 8, lúc 11:45 sáng ở nhà thờ dưới. Phó tế Song đã

tìm thấy nguồn cảm hứng của mình nơi Thánh Anphongsô

Liguori, người “động lòng trắc ẩn đối với người nghèo, đặc

biệt là những người sống ở các vùng quê”. Ngài đã thành lập

Dòng Chúa Cứu Thế để “rao giảng Tin Mừng cho người

nghèo.” Deacon Song đã viết: “Tôi được truyền cảm hứng bởi

恩弥撒。

2. 8月1号早上11:45在下圣堂，游神父将举行他的中文感恩弥

撒，弥撒后，我们华人团体将在金皇庭大酒店为游神父举行隆

重的庆祝喜宴，欢迎大家积极、尽快地向堂区议员们报名，每
