Dianne has taught in many states for their local guilds or state organization. In October 2012, one of Dianne's baskets won first place in the Miscellaneous Materials category and the "Viewer’s Choice" awards in the Exhibit Room at the Association of Michigan Basketmakers Convention. In March 2013, a different basket won first place in the Mold Woven category and the "Viewer’s Choice" award in the Exhibit Room at the North Carolina Basketweavers Association Convention. Her web site is www.diannegleixnerbaskets.com Marla Helton Greencastle, IN Email Address: [email protected] Marla began exploring unique combinations of mixed media art forms that incorporated weaving techniques with pottery and gourds. In 1990 she began exhibiting at prestigious juried art shows in the Midwest and selling in art galleries. Marla teaches at retreats, conventions and galleries all over the country She has a studio in rural Indiana where she finds inspiration in her surroundings. Marla’s work has been featured in many publications including: Weaving on Gourds, Fine Art Gourds, Coiling on Gourds, New and Different Materials for Weaving and Coiling, Fiber and Gourds, Sunshine Artist and the CraftsReport. In addition she has written numerous articles for books and publications. Visit her website www.serendipitygourdart.com for more information. Gina Kieft Rothbury, MI Email Address: [email protected] Gina began weaving baskets through the local Community Education classes when her youngest son was a year old. It was a way to get out of the house and be with other women. She loved it from the start! She has been teaching basket classes for 16 years. At this time she has over 90 patterns written and has had works published in two basket magazines. She has won several awards in the exhibit rooms at the AMB Convention and the NCBA Convention. She is happy for the opportunity to teach her love of basketry around the Mid-West and East Coast. Many Girl Scouts have received their weaving merit badges through classes she has taught. She enjoys teaching at the local Art’s Council and Council on Aging as well as private groups. She teaches basket weaving two days a week out of her home studio. She enjoys selling baskets at local art fairs, several local stores, and from the web site: www.ginasbaskets.com Trying new mediums and new techniques is something she enjoys, however twill is her favorite. Annetta Kraayeveld Beloit, WI Email Address: [email protected] Since devouring Lyn Siler’s “The Basket Book” and begging a first lesson from a local weaver, Annetta has been largely a self taught weaver. This method of learning created a large amount of kindling and some baskets; it also proved that she could weave the pictures in her mind. Annetta considers herself a weaver, a teacher, and a life-long student of basketry. In addition to publishing stacks of patterns, Annetta has been teaching at basketry events and guilds across the USA since 2000. You can view her work at www.prairiewoodbasketry.com Jan Schmidt Georgetown, TX Email Address: [email protected] Jan comes from a very creative family where she learned the art of basketweaving from her mother. She was an avid quilter and needle worker and finally gave into the craft of basketry in 1990 and has been hooked on it ever since. She has been teaching since 1995 in and around the DFW area as well as US conventions. She loves to come up with unique and challenging ideas that nobody has taught before. You can buy her basket kits and patterns at www.basketsbyjan.net
