Basketball Skills Development Camp for boys and girls aged 14 to 17 with

professional coaches…

Basketball development An international basketball camp in Spanish and English, with coaches and assistants from Spain, Serbia and the USA.

This is a Development Basketball Camp for campers from the age of 14 to 17 who already have a minimum of 4-5 years of playing experience.

An average of 4 hours per day is devoted to basketball: basketball lectures, training focused on individual technique, group training and competit ions.

Intense training with a variety of teaching techniques is used to achieve optimum results.

A Development Basketball Camp for players aged 14 to 17 who already have experience in playing basketball (minimum 4-5 years) with a ratio of 1 coach per 6-8 players to ensure participants receive personalised training and support.

Basketball training

The camp wi l l develop both individual and team techniques. Competi t ions are important, but not as much as developing indiv idual basketbal l ski l ls. The camp is designed for players who ser iously want to improve their game.

Basketball coaches

David Gi l , senior basketbal l coach and assistant coach in the ACB-Spanish League, is the sports consultant in charge of planning training sessions. Camp coaches include Mladen_Jegdic, FIBA senior coach; Shay Mi l ler West, professional basketbal l player;Sabino Suárez, senior coach and other senior coaches. .

The basketball faci l i t ies are careful ly selected to ensure the best condit ions for players and avoid the heat and humidity of the summer months on the Mediterranean coast.

Language course From Monday to Friday, part icipants have three English or Spanish classes per day with experienced teachers.

Language courses are specif ical ly designed for teenagers and make use of an active, practical and communicative methodology to guarantee that students learn as quickly and effectively as possible.

Lessons are in small groups with a maximum of 7 students per classroom to ensure that students receive personalised teaching.

Although students work on a variety of language skil ls including speaking and fluency, l istening and reading comprehension and writing, the predominant focus is on communication skil ls.

Language school Zador Al icante is located at 14, AVENIDA DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN, near the corner of Alfonso X el Sabio Street, between the Central Marketplace and the city’s Teatro Principal theatre.

The language centre is very well situated, 7-10 minutes on foot from

Three‐star Hotel accommodation The housing for the residence camp part icipants has been careful ly selected and inspected by Zador staff.

Players staying overnight l ive in twin or tr iple rooms in Hotel Kris Maya. Al l rooms are equipped with air-condit ioning and WIFI internet connection.

I t is a modern building with a cafe and restaurant, TV rooms, a computer area, several common areas to relax as well as a swimming pool, paddle tennnis courts and mini-golf.

The Hotel-Residence is situated near the beach, about 12-15 minutes walking from the basketball courts and the language school in Al icante city centre.

Hotel Kris Maya Alicante is located at the feet of the famous Santa Bárbara Castle, the beach only a pleasant 5-minute walk away and 15 minutes walking from the basketball courts.

Al l rooms are exter ior-facing and are except ional ly bright. Each room has a ful ly-equipped bathroom, WIFI Internet connection, TV,and air-condit ioning. These 18 square metre rooms are ful ly-furnished with 2 or 3 beds, wardrobe, and study desk.

Full board

From Monday to Fr iday part icipants have ful l board meals consist ing of dai ly buffet-sty le breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the weekend players have breakfast and an evening meal at the hotel and are provided with a packed lunch to take on excursions.

for every 10-15 participants…

During their stay, basketball camp participants take part in planned activities alongside both Spanish and foreign participants from the tennis, sailing, windsurfing and golf camps.

clearly stated.

Participants may book a transfer service from Alicante airport, train or

bus station…

Optional Transfer service Alicante has excellent connections with other cit ies in Spain and Europe.

Al icante airport (El Altet) is located 11 km from Alicante and it is about 30 min from the airport to the city centre. Transfer service from Alicante airport, bus/coach or train station is NOT included in the package price.

Upon request, a pick-up service is avai lable from the airport, train or bus/coach station.

The cost for this service varies depending on the t ime and place of arr ival or departure as well as the age of the part icipant and if he/she is f lying as an unaccompanied minor (UM).

Every day participants must wear appropriate sports clothing and extra clothes to change into for the language school and Alicante city centre. It is forbidden to wear swimsuits on the street.

WORKOUT GEAR FOR 1 WEEK DOCUMENTS, MEDICINE 5 T‐Shirts and 5 gym shorts 5 pairs of socks 2 pairs of basketball shoes (new shoes are not a good idea; you will get blisters and not be able to train) 1 sweatshirt or 1 tracksuit (just in case it gets colder, although this is rare in Alicante) Ankle, knee and wrist supports or any other protective gear Protective tape for strapping body parts (i.e. fingers) Compeed Blisters Creams or gels used to warm up muscles, if applicable Small toiletries kit to bring to the basketball court

Passport (original and 2 copies) plus 2 passport photos Medication, if needed, in its original container, along with the explicit dosage. A signed medical release form should accompany all prescription medication (in English or Spanish). Please be sure to bring a medical certificate to camp and submit it with the photograph upon arrival. First aid kit with plasters/band‐aids, ibuprofen, paracetamol or other medicine that may be necessary. Parental Permission. Health Statement & Medical Waiver If the camper wears glasses or contacts, bring 2 pairs of glasses and sufficient contact lens cleaner.

VALUABLES POCKET MONEY

Zador cannot be responsible for valuables brought to camp. We strongly discourage bringing any valuables. Although the world does not stop if you are without a computer for a few days, there is a computer area available and there is free WIFI access at the hotel and at the school.

Students do not have much time to spend money during the day, except on ice cream or snacks before lunch and souvenirs, T‐shirts or presents on Saturday and Sunday during the excursion to an adventure park. Therefore, they do not need a lot of pocket money. We suggest approximately €10‐15 per day. If the student needs funds they may be sent by Western Union (not by bank transfer to ZADOR’s account).

How can I enrol my child on the camp Complete the online registration form: If there is more than one participant, please complete one form for each.

Please check that you have completed all the items with * ‐Otherwise, it is

impossible to submit the form.

After submitting the form, the website becomes blank and a message will

appear at the top of the screen beginning with: "We have already received

your registration..." indicating that the information has been saved in our

database.

Within two working days you will receive an email with the camp price

including all the services requested and instructions on how to make the

payment. You can either pay a deposit or the payment in full.

The registration is not valid until we receive the payment in full. Participants

will be placed on a first‐come, first‐served basis after receiving registration

forms and payments. Final payments are due by April 1st.

For the bank transfer, please include the registration code and participant's

name, and please send a copy of receipt by fax or email.

Once the enrolment form and a copy of the receipt have been received, we

will send a confirmation email with the documents to be completed and

returned before camp: Health Statement & Medical Waiver and Parental

Permission Form. The Camp Rules and a link to complete a special form for

campers regarding arrival and departure times will also be provided.

1 week before the camp begins, a camp handbook and the insurance policy

will be provided.

What is your refund policy Once enrolled, there are no

refunds. We recommend

purchasing a cancellation policy.

If for any reason you have to

cancel before the final payment

date, we will issue a camp

voucher for all camp fees paid

except the registration fee. This

voucher is valid for the camp in

the following year, and it is only

transferable to an immediate

family member. Refunds will

only be given with the purchase

of a Cancellation Policy.

If a participant decides to travel

during the period of the

reservation and he/she does not

attend some lessons or training

sessions, no refund will be

given.

After the camp has started, no

refund will be given in case of

the camper withdrawing for

family, personal or disciplinary

reasons before the end of the

Is the camp in a safe area? Are campers supervised? Yes to both questions. The hotel is North of Alicante, in a quiet and safe

neighbourhood, near the beach and the Sports Halls. If Basketball Camp

participants have hotel accommodation, they are highly supervised. Only

during their free time or during the time to rest can they be in the common

rooms or watching TV without camp counsellors, who remain available in

the building.

Campers must participate in all scheduled on‐campus and off‐campus

activities, for which there are always adult supervisors.

Campers cannot leave the camp premises alone. Only campers can go out

alone with prior parental permission.

How many players are in the same room? The majority of rooms are twin rooms, although there are several triple

rooms.

Single rooms are available on request.

How do I handle roommate requests? There is a question on the

enrolment form where you can

specify if the camper is tra‐

velling with a companion and

write the companion's name. If

they are the same gender, we

can accommodate them

together.

Can parents join the Basketball Camp? If you want to come with your

children and are interested in

languages, you can have a

Spanish course in the morning

and enjoy your holidays in

Alicante. We can also suggest

Is there accommodation available before or after the Camp? Yes, this is possible because the tennis, sailing, windsurfing and golf camps

are from June 28 to August 20, and therefore there will already be adult

supervisors at the hotel.

Additional accommodation is available at an extra cost, but the camper may

have to change his/her room at the hotel.

The extra cost depends not only on the accommodation price but also on the

activities scheduled for the extra days, as participants cannot be alone in the

hotel.

Is there a laundry service provided? The hotel has a laundry service.

2‐week campers can contract an optional laundry service (€6 per 5 kilos). A

laundry company takes the clothes on Thursday and will receive the clothes

on Saturday. This service is only available if participants have their clothes

labelled and inside laundry bags.

Are the campers placed into groups based on age or ability? Both. Coaches first divide campers into groups based on age. Then campers

are evaluated by staff as they go through a series of skill‐testing drills.

What are the ratios between staff and participants? At the training sessions we typically have 6‐8 players per coach, plus

additional staff on campus, including trainers, directors and assistants.

At the language school, there are 7 students per classroom.

Are all fees included in the camp price? Yes, except arrival or departure transfer services, lunch on the first day for

early arrivals, lunch on the last day for late departures, optional laundry

service, and personal expenses (beverages, ice‐creams, etc.).

All entrance tickets for activities are included in the price. .

What is the best time for phone calls Although mobile phones are not

forbidden at the camp, they will

not be allowed at training

sessions or in language classes,

and their use may be regulated.

Please also be aware of the

possibility that phones may run

out of battery, break or be lost.

Campers have free time at: 8:00

to 9:00, 14:30 to 16:00 and

21:30 to 22:00. Please arrange

suitable calling times with your

son/daughter.

Parents, please note: If your

son/daughter has a mobile

phone, please avoid calling

every day to “check if everything

is ok. ”

Among the educational merits of

a teenager attending the camp is

the experience they gain of

being “away from home.”

Furthermore, if you are based

abroad, it is important that you

avoid night‐time phone calls by

taking into account the time

difference with Spain. Please

also be aware that your children

will be extremely busy during

their time at the camp.

All campers will be able to call

home on the day they arrive at

the camp.
