Basketball SHOWDOWN!
It’s the championship game of the ACC tournament. Your team has made it to the final game through hard work and determination. But for the last game, the referees have decided to change the rules. In order to score points, your team has to answer questions in various categories. The harder the questions, the more points you rack up. But be careful! If you miss the answer, your opponent has the chance to steal both the question AND the points! The clock is about to start ticking, so grab your
mascot, hit the floor and…
LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!
Home Page
The Rules:The goal of the game is to get as many baskets as you can. But you can only get the points if you answer a question correctly. Choose your
team’s mascot and move him around your side of the board following the arrows. When you land on a number spot you can either answer a question or move to the next spot, BUT you can only move ONE spot a turn! Choose wisely!
• Number 3 spots have hard questions and earn you three points.
• Number 2 spots have medium questions and earn you two points.
• Number 1 spots have easy questions and earn you one point. After answering the question, your opponent has the chance to shoot a basket.
MORE RulesIf you answer a question correctly, add the number of points you earned to your score. BUT BE CAREFUL! If you answer incorrectly, your opponent has the chance to steal.
Keep score on a piece of paper that both you and your opponent can see.
Play the game and answer as many questions as you can. When your Teacher says “Time’s UP!”, add your points up to see who won.
Ready? SET? LET’S PLAY!

Educational Objectives
• Audience– This game is targeted to 4th graders in North
Carolina Public Schools.
• Subject Area Objectives– Students should play this game towards the end of
the school year as the questions are drawn from most areas of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for math, language arts, social studies, and science. This game is excellent to use in preparation for the End of Grade testing, as the question posed are similar to the ones found in the 4th grade EOG’s. Students will become familiar with the question format and review question content and thus be better equipped for the EOG’s.
