I have been asked to describe the interdependence between animals and plants. In my project, I have chosen to study fruit bats and the jack fruit tree because I think that fruit bats are really cool and jack fruits have an interesting smell. I have chosen the gray background color because that is the color of fruit bats. I chose the font “Times” because I think it looks nice and neat. I also chose “Mac Style” format because I think it looks nice. I hope you enjoy my project.

WELCOME!

Symbiotic Relationship

A symbiotic relationship is when two animals rely on each other to survive. One example of a symbiotic relationship is the fruit bat and the jack fruit tree. The jack fruit tree helps the fruit bat by giving it food. In return, the fruit bat spreads the seeds so there will be more jack fruit trees. Without each other they wouldn’t be able to survive.

Symbiotic Relationship Continued

Two organisms help each other survive by helping each other in any possible way they can. In this case, the fruit bat eats the jack fruit and drops the seeds. The seeds then grow into new trees. This is an example of a symbiotic relationship.

Fruit Bat And Jack Fruit Tree Conversation

Bat: Hey tree!

Jack Fruit Tree: What?

Bat: I’m hungry!

Jack Fruit Tree: So what?

Bat: GIVE ME FOOD!!!

Jack Fruit Tree: Okay, just stop being bossy.

Bat:I’m not bossy!

Jack Fruit Tree: Also, spread the seeds.

Bat: Just give me my food!

Jack Fruit Tree: Fine take it!

The Fruit Bat: How its Feature Help it to Survive

Organism Environment Features How features help it survive

Fruit Bat Food is scarce in a rainforest.

Food is hard to chew and cut

There are not many places to sleep in a rain forest

In a rain forest the ground is crawling with dangerous creatures.

It is hard to see in a rain forest.

Good sense of smell.

It has sharp teeth.

It has sharp claws.

Wings

Super hearing

It uses its nose to sniff out food.

It uses it’s teeth to cut fruit.

It uses it’s claws to hang upside down on a branch and sleep.

Using it’s wings it flies over dangerous creatures.

It uses it’s hearing to see.

Organism Environment Features How features help it survive

Jack Fruit Tree Not so much light in a rain forest.

There are so many trees in a rain forest that they block out the light.

All the animals in the rain forest eat it’s fruit

Tall trunk

Grows quickly

Strong seeds

It uses it’s trunk to get it’s leaves out of the dark and into the light.

It grows faster than the other trees so it can get the light before the other trees.

The seeds survive in the animals digestive system and falls out of the animal and onto the ground so it will grow into a new Jack Fruit tree.

Story Of A Fruit Bat In The Artic

A Fruit Bat flew into the Artic. It began feeling hungry so it looked for a Jack Fruit Tree but he could only find snow. A shiver ran down it’s spine so it looked for a cave but all he could find were snow for miles. The Fruit Bat didn’t know where to go so it kept flying. The Fruit Bat’s body ached, it’s bones felt like it was going to break. Suddenly the Fruit Bat fell into the icy water. As it sank into the icy water it took it’s last breath. Finally the Fruit Bat sank and died. All that was left of it was a block of ice.

Features I Found Most Interesting About The Fruit Bat And The Jack Fruit Tree

When I made this project I found out many interesting things about the fruit bat and the Jack Fruit tree. For example I found out that after a fruit bat eats a jack fruit it poops out the seeds and the seeds become a new Jack Fruit tree. I thought that was interesting because I wouldn’t have thought that the seeds would have survived the fruit bats digestive system. I never knew this until I started this project.

Features I Found Most Interesting About The Fruit Bat And The Jack Fruit Tree Continued

Also I learned that Jack Fruit trees grow tall quickly. I thought this was really interesting because generally trees grow slowly. In my opinion the most interesting things about fruit bats is that they have super sonic hearing and they sleep upside down! I already knew this but it is still interesting because not that many animals have great hearing or sleep upside down. Fruit bats and the Jack Fruit trees are really interesting.

This is a Wod. It lives in the rain forest. It flies around looking for food. When it hears the sound of a predator it flies to a near by tree and hangs upside down. When It sees prey it swoops down and grabs the prey with it’s claws and pops the prey into it’s mouth. As the night falls it swoops into a tree and rests for the night.
