Villa 618 is situated in a private native bush reserve just a few minutes drive south of Paihia. Come and

enjoy the relaxed elegance of our luxurious yet welcoming accommodation, personalised food and

service, and the enriching company of other guests. And above all, come and enjoy the panoramic views

of our mesmerising island-studded bay.

The villa is a two-level, cedar-clad villa surrounded by native bush and overlooking the Veronica

Channel between Paihia and historic Russell. Every major room enjoys uninterrupted views of the bay

as far as Moturoa Island, Black Rocks, and beyond. The villa has been custom-designed to meet its

complementary needs: to showcase its stunning surroundings and to provide exclusive luxury

accommodation for up to eight guests.

To showcase the beguiling views (of nothing but sea, native bush, and sky) the lodge features floor-to-

ceiling windows, large decks, and an expansive, open-plan lounge and dining area. Throughout, the

design is contemporary and the colour scheme and materials are natural and earthy (native and

imported timbers feature); the style is sophisticated simplicity.

Separating the bedrooms on the lower floor is an 'infinity' swimming pool and surrounding deck.

There is also a guest library, guest laundry, and games.

Villa 619 offers four spacious guest bedrooms (each with ensuite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, and

large balcony). Separating the bedrooms on the lower floor is an 'infinity' swimming pool and

surrounding deck, additional facilities include high-speed Internet access, satellite (Sky) TV, DVD,

and stereo in each bedroom.

Our cuisine could perhaps best be described as 'contemporary New Zealand', with some of the

ingredients and inspiration drawn from European and Asian cuisines. We take great pleasure in

preparing seasonal dishes and value above all else the intense flavours of only the very best and freshest

local produce.

The villa is a 3 hour scenic drive north of Auckland, via State Highway 1 through Warkworth,

Wellsford and Whangarei. At the Kawakawa turn-off, leave Highway 1 and drive straight on to Paihia

and Bay of Islands. 12km on will bring you to Opua Hill. There the road forks: turn left towards Paihia

and 200m from the fork you will see the Bay of Islands Lodge sign on the right-hand-side; to the right

from the fork will take you to the car ferry across to Russell.

For those people who prefer to fly, there is an airport at Whangarei (1 hour south of Opua) and

Kerikeri (30 minutes north of Opua). Both have frequent services to and from Auckland by Air New

Zealand links. Transfers to and from both airports can be arranged at a nominal charge.
