Lightweight (60% lighter than steel), this results in:
Possibility to install on most existing buildings without additional structural reinforcements (low and high rise)
On new buildings an aluminium helipad does not require structural reinforcement in the building, as would
be needed with a concrete or steel helipad
Resistant to urban environment due to natural corrosion resistance, this results in:
Minimal maintenance, no painting
Extremely long life time, 30 years plus
Very low cost of ownership
the benefits of bayards aluminium helipads:
In consultation with the buildings architect and contractor esthetical and specific client requirements
can be incorporated in the helipad design
Compliant to any national or international standard e.g. ICAO annex 14, 2009
Stretcher ramps, walkways and stair cases for helipad access can all be included
Possibility to supply a helipad completed with all operational support equipment e.g. fire fighting
and lighting systems
Helipad assembly either by Bayards crew or by local workforce under Bayards supervision
Helipads for HEMS obviously need to be accessible all year round. Therefore Bayards can winterize its helipads for
hospitals located in snowy areas. As a cost efficient solution for heating, the helipad surface can be heated with
thermal air or water from the hospitals heating system.
