In 1893 World’s first synthetic insecticide, ‘Antinonnin’, launched In 1896 company was set-up in Mumbai in India

as Farben Fabrican Bayer AG. In 1951 first systemic insecticide ‘Systox’

(demeton) launched. In 1972 changing name- Bayer AG. In 1986 Hoechst acquires Nunza Vegetable seeds,

Healen (Neatherland), today a subsidiary of Bayer CropScience.

In 2002 Bayer CropScience formed through Bayer’s acquisition of Aventis CropScience.
