The chips packets are then collected by the nearby cement factory, these chips packets are consumed in making cement. The consumer products break into micro plastics in the presence of sunlight in water bodies which affects the marine life. The plastic products collected by IT companies are processed and shredded into pellets which are sold to vendors. The vendors use these pellets to make drip irrigation pipes. The PET bottles collected are converted into small chips which is sold to vendors across different cities. These chips are recycled to products such as fridge trays. Micro-plastics are consumed by marine life and birds. These start to fill up their stomachs which eventually causes death. SUSTAIN BY DESIGN Sustain by Design was a studio on investigating the Sustainable Development Goals in creative and critical ways. Art and Design students engaged with specific issues on the ground in Bangalore, India. SDGs Project Lead: Forum for Law, Environment, Development and Governance (FLEDGE). Poster created in collaboration with: Graduate students at the Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology : Ampika Gupta, Pranjal Jain, Shreyas Dhuliya and Tejasvi Srinivas Babu.
