Curriculum Standards Model - Page 2

Introduction The term curriculum standards model refers to a framework and organizational structure for decision-making about educational priorities, administrative policies, instructional methods, and evaluation criteria. eSIS Curriculum Standards Model provides the ability to create frameworks to guide program implementation and evaluation. This can insure that each child has his/her instructional needs met and that he/she will succeed mentally, physically and socially. With eSIS Curriculum Standards Model, educators can build a standards-aligned curriculum customized to the needs of their school or district. It can offer teaching strategies and connected activities that support the instruction of curricular objectives and help to effectively monitor student performance by ensuring that what is taught is what is tested. The district or school can set up guiding principles and practices that school staff follow as they work with students. Districts/schools are free to adapt to the special needs and conditions of their school, and their community. Variations among curriculum standards models reflect differences in values concerning what is more or less important for students to learn, as well as in the process by which students learn and develop. Key features of eSIS Curriculum Standards Model: Collects and disseminates information that builds the capacity of schools to

raise students' academic achievement. Ensures easy access to the best resources for planning, implementing, and

evaluating school programs. Ensures dependable quality in early childhood programs. Provides accountability for public investments in early childhood education.
