Boost for young players
Will Sneath collecting the cheque from Alison Phillipson of The Gale Family Trust
A record 200 sponsors and guests recently attended Bedfordshire County Cricket Club’s Corporate Day which took place during the second day of the Bedfordshire vs Cumberland fi xture at Bedford School. Bedfordshire’s Cricket Development O cer Will Sneath was presented with a cheque for £2,000 from local charity, The Gale Family Trust. The funds will be used to help less fortunate young players with the costs associated with playing representative cricket. It is hoped that this support may continue into the future. The event also included a jazz band, ice-cream stall and an amusing spoof ‘Flog It!’ with antiques expert David Fletcher. Auctioneer Russell Beard raised over £1,000 for Bedfordshire County Cricket Club and Lord’s Taverners charities in the post-lunch auction.
