Q. What type of insurance do you offer? We can write policies for your personal needs, home, auto, business and motorcycles,

to name a few.

Q. how long have you been in the insurance business? rick: I have been in the insurance

business since 1989, carrie has been in the insurance business since 1993, and

John has been in the insurance business since 1997. The three of us are all licensed

agents, not commissioned sales people. our number one priority is customer

service, and our client’s best interest always comes first.

Q. Why is Cochrane Insurance an independent insurance company? What can you offer that other insurance companies cannot? We are an independent insurance agency

by choice. an insurance person that writes policies for one company is pretty limited.

It is like having a shoe store that can offer only one size shoe. By being independent,

we represent a variety of insurance companies but do not work for them. We work

for the client. Because of this, we are able to write for over 30 different insurance

companies including Travelers, Progressive, Safeco, Kemper and hartford. When

clients come to us, we get quotes and compare policies and rates from up to six

different companies at the same time. We are familiar with all the companies we work

with, how they handle claims, how fast they respond to claims, and how fair they are

Q. What obstacles do you encounter in the insurance business?We know that almost half the state of Montana is not insured. no

one likes to pay insurance any more than they like to pay their

taxes. However, most people find out their coverage is lacking after

an accident. The majority of people have no idea what the details

are of their coverage, they just know how much they pay each

month. There are laws in place to protect people from purchasing

inadequate insurance (also known as “twisting”) but when policies

are purchased like a commodity or from a sales person who is not

familiar with the fine print, things may slip through the cracks.
