The Manzanita Beach Walk & Run is a destination 5 & 10 kilometer event which aspires

to bolster physical activity and a healthy lifestyle for participants, by offering education andparticipation. Taking place on the scenic Manzanita Beach, participants race across the sands

towards Nehalem Bay Jetty where they turn and head back towards the starting line taking in

the beautiful sight that is Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain.

As a non-profit organization we utilize a variety of sponsors and volunteers to host this

one day event. Highlights of the day include pre-race music to pump runners up, pre-race

speech honoring sponsors and volunteers and a mass-start for all participants of our 5k run,

5k walk, and 10k run. After the event we provide snacks and raffle prizes during the awards

ceremony. Since its inaugural race in 1990, the Beach Run has grown to nearly 300 - 400

walkers, runners, family and friends. Our participants consist of first time runners, running

enthusiasts, non-competitive professionals, and their friends and family. Opportunities for

growth, charity, and sponsorship have propelled the Manzanita Beach Walk & Run to be one

of the most successful foot races on the Oregon coast. Our organizational structure consists

of an Advisory Board, Race Director and four Assistant Race Directors. Each year volunteers of

all ages come out to help support the Beach Run and help make the participant’s experience

one that will keep them coming back.

The Beach Run is a special event in the Northern Tillamook County area, bringing a big

economic impact to Manzanita and it’s surrounding cities. Sponsoring the Beach Run is a

perfect way for your company to become part of the positive impact, while maximizing your

advertising potential.

North County Recreation District uses the funds raised to provide scholarships for

members of the community to use the facilities at a reduced or waived fee. As well as,

purchasing and maintaining facility equipment and to help further train district staff to better

serve the community.

Sales Promotion

The Manzanita Beach Walk & Run is one of the largest running events in Northwest Oregon.With an expected 300 - 400 walkers, runners, family and friends, the Beach Run is an

opportunity for your company to reach a concentrated mass. A sponsorship will surely

generate in-store traffic and help promote your business.

Printed Materials

Sponsors of the Manzanita Beach Walk & Run will receive sponsorship credit on all printed and

advertising materials such as entry pamphlets, newspapers and posters. All sponsors' logos

will receive visual placement on our monthly newsletter mailing list. Our current mailing listcontains over 700 people, representing multiple states and countries with the majority from

the Pacific Northwest area.

Media Relations

The Manzanita Beach Walk & Run is highly supported by local and public relation efforts, e.g.

newspapers and radio. The Beach Run Advisory Board, Staff, and Director will ensure that all

sponsors receive the maximum exposure.

Online

All sponsors' names will be placed and linked on the Beach Run page of our website,

www.ncrd.org, and in our monthly e-blast, sent out to over 700 past and current

participants. Participants of this years event will also receive an e-goodie bag that will feature

links to sponsors’ websites. Sponsors can take advantage of this by distributing coupons,

giving a short description of their product or business, and providing links to social network

pages, to name a few.

On-Site Promotion

The Manzanita Beach Walk & Run offers sponsors the opportunity to exhibit and display their

product(s) on race day, July 20th, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
