You will need about 20 – 30 minutes of prep time to prepare your brisket and other
ingredients.
Pick up a 3 – 4 pound beef brisket (Fresh brisket not corned beef)
Fresh bay leaves (2)
Crushed tomatoes (About 2 cups)
Fresh mushrooms ( 1/2 pound-Not everyone likes mushrooms so these are optional and if you don’t have
fresh mushrooms a can of drained ones will do fine)
Chopped onions (one cup or pick up a small bag of frozen onions)
Half a cup of ketchup
Balsamic vinegar 1/2 a cup
1/2 a cup of brown sugar (packed)
Cold water a quarter cup
Cornstarch also a quarter of a cup
If you have a favorite side dish you’ll want to prepare that as well.
Green beans would be fantastic with this recipe!
The final preparation for this tasty beef brisket crock pot dinner is quick and easy.
Cut your beef brisket in half, place in your crock pot along with the mushrooms and bay
leaves.
Now we’re going to mix the other ingredients that will produce the most irresistible aroma
and flavors.
Take your tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar and onion.
Mix them together.
When you’re done mixing, pour it over your brisket in the crock pot.
Cover, put temperature on low and let it cook for 6 – 7 hours.
Check your beef after about 6 hours.
If it’s not as tender as you would like it.
Allow it to cook another 45 minutes to an hour.
Once you’re satisfied with the tenderness of the brisket, you can take it out of the crock pot
and place it where it will keep warm.
By the way, just remove the bay leaves and throw them away.
Now take the cornstarch and water and add to a saucepan.
Stir to a smooth consistency.
Now take the liquid in the crock pot and gradually add to the cornstarch and water and
bring to a boil.
Let it continue to cook for about 2 – 3 minutes or until it thickens.
Serve up your brisket and gravy and the side dish of your choice.
Enjoy!
